On 11/21/2019 I got a bid of$6277 for 4 Dimensional Contractors to redo our existing fireplace in stone. I was asked for half the money down (in cash to save 3.9% service fee and 10% tax). Around Dec. 10 (I can't remember the exact date) I gave Thomas Mifsud $3500 cash. He was to use this money to order the stone for the fireplace. I have an email stating that I put a deposit of $3500 dated Dec. 10. Originally he didn't want to give me a receipt but I insisted on having something in writing. When emailed me saying he received $3500. He said the stone should take about 2 weeks to order and he should be able to start the job after the holidays.
When I didn't here from him the week after Christmas, I called and asked what the time-frame was. He said he had ordered the stone, but that it wasn't in yet. I called the stone company (K2 Stone in Tukwilla, WA) to make sure he had ordered it. They said he hadn't placed the order yet. They then contacted him and he called me and said he was having trouble getting a hold of Avery B who he was to order the stone from K2 with).
I let time pass and on January 5, 2020, my husband had a medical emergency. On Jan. 8 I called Thomas and asked if he had ordered the stone and told him that my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor and that I needed to cancel the job. He told me the stone had been ordered. He said he could try to sell the stone and get my money back.
When I didn't hear from him, I reached out to K2 stone and I have an email from them saying they reached out to Thomas and that he had not picked up or paid for the stone. This was on January 29, 2020. I called Thomas and he said he had paid but the person he paid at K2 had been fired for "just this kind of thing". I then told him I would like my money back or the supplies he purchased along with receipts that should date prior to Jan 8 when I asked him to cancel the job. I have not received any word from him since reaching out to him on 1/29/2020 and again on 2/3/2020.
We are planning on having this reimbursement paid back by April 1st
we had set up the job and bought materials that have now been moved to another job after this customer canceled the project.
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. In addition, the business stated in an email to me that they will be prepared to pay a partial payment by March 10 and then the remainder by April 1.
