Due to the Coronavirus situation I canceled an e xchange for the end of May. I had 8 "keys" and an almost $2000 fee involved which I asked to be returned. They say the keys are only good until August 20, 2020 which is unacceptable as we have been told not to travel u til the fall. I asked for a replacement exchange for New York city in October and was told there was nothing available. Then asked for one in Bermuda over Thanksgiving which I can,t t get the club to look into. I have asked for a refund if the fee and extension of my keys.

In lines with the Terms & Conditions of the club, the 8 Keys were extended through August 2020 and returned and can be used to reserve available weeks with a start date up to 24 months out by the expiration date. The member's exchange fee was applied as monetary credit to their account with no expiration date and can be used on Key purchases, upgrades and toward future exchange fees. Member correspondence indicates New York for October 2020 would not work for their family but the 218 Bermuda properties able to be requested were shared along with the THIRDHOME request details. If the member has questions regarding the request process or needs assistance about the policies, the THIRDHOME team is more than happy to assist.

Thank you for looking into this matter for me, I am in lockdown and told not to plan traveling until possibly September or October so August expiration is of no use. There was no availability in New York City in October and after thorough research only two properties suitable for family visit to Bermuda over Thanksgiving but again no availability which is why I have requested a refund of the money paid.

Thank you for your follow-up. Regarding the Keys expiring in August, the member does not need to have taken her vacation by August. The member just needs to have used those Keys to book a trip by that date. At this time, the member can book a trip up to 24 months out. Our company is continuously monitoring the COVID-19 situation and will adjust the expirations out further if we see fit, however, there is no guarantee for that at this time. If the member is having trouble finding availability within our system, she is welcome to use our request options which she can inquire about directly with her Account Manager.

Misleading advertising and communication regarding updates to my account.
Via my timeshare purchased at *** I was promised a key exchange with ***. I was just informed TODAY that *** is no longer in a relationship with *** and my property is no longer eligible for key exchange, when I called to exchange my keys. I was told this the relationship was severed over a year ago, yet at no time was I ever communicated this change, and my account page on the *** website still gives me options to exchange my keys. There was NO communication about this on the part of ***, and I would not have continued this relationship had I not been able to exchange keys. This is the first time I am hearing of this and the lack of communication is unacceptable and not a way to do business. This is false advertising on the part of *** and deceiving members by still having the option to exchange keys on my account when it is no longer possible.

Desired Outcome

I would like to be able to procure the keys to exchange my time share that I thought I would be receiving by exchanging my week for this year.

This member reserved 2 stays with her Keys in May and does not have any additional Keys in her account. When the relationship was ended it was clear that the responsibility of communicating the change was Haceinda Encantada's. The owners are contractually bound via ownership with Haceinda Encantada and not with THIRDHOME. We honored our responsibilities and have allowed all Haceinda Encantada owners with earned Keys to use those Keys and reserve travel through THIRDHOME.
