Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:To whom it may concern: In response to Angela F[redacted]’s statement:First of all, I let Angela know up front that $600 in labor and $400 in product for the 70 square feet was way out of my price range. She said she could work with me on the labor and offered to knock off $200 of the labor I also knew I was paying for all the supplies including the rental charge for the paver cutter if needed. Angela said she would deliver any and all the supplies free of charge. I never once asked Angela to look for supplies for me. I knew the flagstaff would be way over my price point. She said fine if you can find used stones good for you and I will go get them. The more expensive stones were never considered by me. My budget was only $500.I looked on Craigslist and found used pavers at [redacted]. I asked her to look at a pic and see if they would work and she said yes they will; they are nice stones. She offered to pick them up for me at no charge. I saw her unloading the first half of the pavers alone and I immediately went out front and helped her unload the product. She said she would get the rest tomorrow and that her help had bailed on her. We had a nice conversation the entire time. Please note that Angela says:  “free of charge I conducted estimates of different types of product she could use all grouping in the $400 dollar range” this was never a possibility for me. She looked on her own doing and I did not ask her to do that. In addition she never once said to me that If whe did look there would be a charge. We had already agreed on a price for the completion of the patioShe states in her response that I said “I can afford those (used pavers at Gibsons) and $400 labor plus $40 for sand and gravel. This proves she knew I was on a tight budget ” She also stated in her response that (Delivery service was also free of charge) Later she wants to charge me for this.I have an SUV and would have picked the pavers up myself to save the extra money, but since she offered to get them I let her. She knew it would take two trips because she stated so in a text I received saying that- this is because she drives a very small truck and it would not accommodate the 100 square feet of pavers I purchased. She knew this ahead of time. Before any work was done I told Angela I could not get the sto\ep off – and she offered to take that off too. When she arrived at my home she couldn’t get the step off either and just decided to work around the step and leave the entire area around the step unfinished. The step was about a 2 by 4 feet area but she left about a 4 by 4 foot area unfinished because she couldn’t do any more.  She said she would return as soon as I got the step off. The patio looked great. What I didn’t know, because I am not a landscaper was: she left large areas of my patio with just sand.At first glance I thought it would harden like cement. I had no idea she left my patio with huge pockets of sand that my 6 pound dog’s paws would fall through. I wasn’t upset at all. I did ask if she could finish the edges and cut the bricks on the one side that wasn’t holding up. I said I would pay for the cutter when she came back out to finish my patio. She said great I will be there in a few days. She put me off for quite a while and I finally said I need to get this finished. She asked me to go rent a machine for her crew to use. I told her that I would feel more comfortable if she rented the saw for her crew and I would leave a check for her the day that she did. (She also states this in her response)  I did not feel comfortable renting a machine for people to use because I would be responsible for the machine if anything happened to it. Also, I have never had a contractor ask me to rent machines for them to use. I have however paid for the rental after the fact.  I have in a text that she said: ok so you need a cutter?Well, needless to say she never showed up to finish the job. Once again she states in her response on August 18th I will take care of it and said she will be there Thursday or Friday. She never showed up and then responded with she needed another $350 for labor because she had spent too much time on my patio, when really they were at my home less than 3 hours the day they actually did the patio.  I have texts before she got there and her photos of the patio less than three hours later. I did ask for her to do the job right and finish it, but she never did either.  Once again she states in her response that I requested her to finish and repair her work and she calls that free labor. Here is Angela’s break down after the job:Delivery of Paver Patio @ 2 trips = $40    she offered for freeDelivery of Sand @ 2 trips  =$40           she offered for freeCost of Sand $17.25 + $16.95 = $34.10 I paid for this and am not asking for this money backRemoval of two larges piles of Sod =$50 I paid for this and am not asking for this money backEstimate time for product shopping @ 1 hour = $35       Never asked her for this and didn’t have the money to pay $400-$500 for paversTime of consult over text for a time period of one month $25 this is lawyer fees not contractor fees- I email all my contractors this way all the timeAdmin fee for Revdex.com Complaint response preparation. $100. This doesn’t even make sense and I should add $200 to my request thenI am not asking for a full refund. I only want a refund for the two patios she didn’t finish or do correctly.  I will pay for the supplies she picked up and for the sod she hauled off. My bill was $543.50. I have the receipt. I would like $400 for the 70 foot patio that was never finished and needs repaired and the $60 for the 12 square foot patio that also needs to be repaired. In closing, Angela’s entire response was ladened with admission of her wrong doings from top to bottom. She includes all the things she said she would do and then when it came time to return to finish, she justified not completing her work by saying I wanted free labor. I think she just thought she had worked hard and didn’t want to return without getting more money. This is not the way an ethical business of any type conducts business. Their bid is their bid. She have should honored the bid she gave me and the bid on my receipt that says all included! The truth is I should never have paid her the entire bill until she finished her job.[redacted]
