I’m writing to request action by the city of Fairbanks against 24/7 Towing Alaska a business operating at 2771 19th Ave, Fairbanks, AK 99709. On February 28th my car was stuck in a driveway near 587 Beacon Road and the owner had my car towed by 24/7 Towing Alaska. I was completely stuck and do not have any issue with having a tow truck called. I attempted to pick up my vehicle the next day (a Saturday). Because the name of the business was called 24/7 towing I assumed that this would be possible. Instead, I was informed that the car (a rental) would only be available to be picked up on Monday and was not given any information on the cost of the services even after repeated questioning. When I finally arrived to pick up the car, I was informed that the cost would be $1400, an outrageous sum considering the amount of effort involved (in a poorly itemized bill that I have a copy of, there is a $600 claim of “other”). Also, he knew full well that because it was a rental he could charge whatever he’d like. I inquired to other towing services and they informed me that 24/7 towing was not a reputable service and that the expected fee would be closer to $400 and that had they been called the car would have been available the next day. When I picked up the car, another “customer” was also being gouged an outrageous fee of $600 for a single night. He was incredibly rude and given his threatening demeanor, I do not feel comfortable with him even knowing my name to go to a small claims court. After this incident, I informed the Mayors office and filed a police report but have since been distracted by COVID-19 and tried to move on, but I cannot seem to let it go. I had such a terrible experience dealing with this that I have no desire to come back to Fairbanks or Alaska in the future. I fear that the company in question is taking advantage of a grey area in the law knowing that he can charge whatever they’d like given the difficult situation that someone with a towed car is naturally in. I would like the Revdex.com to take whatever action they can to strip this "business" of it's legitimacy
Sincerely
Their driver made an unsafe maneuver and almost caused an accident. I called the company to report the dangerous driving and was told to "*** off" and "suck a ***." These folks are a lawsuit waiting to happen. Take your business elsewhere!
AWFUL SERVICE THEY STEAL CARS AND GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND Im sueing!
When picking up a truck to be towed from a neighbor's place, the 24/7 driver managed to back into my mailbox, breaking the post. I have called them 3 times this week, asking to speak to a manager/supervisor, and the gal who answers has assured me that the managers have been advised, and she also told me that the driver had told her he came by here and had fixed it. This is not true. I have not received any return calls.
I'm in Fairbanks and tried to go around a grader and my outside wheels went off the shoulder after a good samaritan tried to pull me back on the road, I was force to call a towing service, For a simple winch-out that took less than an hour it cost $435. I check another company in Fairbanks and based on the time of day and my location they would have charge $175. This company, is highway robbery.
24/7 Towing is working with ***, LLC a rental agency to deprive people of their personal property and/or for financial gain by claiming to have the right to remove property per rental management discretion at the cost of the people by stating they have a contractual agreement.
The owner of *** called 24/7 Towing company and had both of my vehicles towed at the same time, in retaliation to a verbal dispute between him and the tenant that we were visiting that happened prior to us coming over.
Upon contacting the company they immediately wanted the $235 towing fee and $30 for the first day for each vehicle. Due to my financial circumstances I could not get them out. After seeking legal help it was obvious that they have no legal recourse to keep my vehicles for payment for services they performed that were not authorized by me AND do not have any legal restrictions such as Municipality or State impounds. That they must release my property upon my request and seek payment by submitting a bill to me. I did that and they refused to release my SUV. At this point they are accruing a $30 per day fee on top of the initial towing. While they hold hostage my vehicle valued at $7400 for payment of fees.
Got myself stuck and called this company. They tell me someone will be out in 30 minutes. A hour later I call to see if a driver is near. They tell me 10-15 minutes he’ll arrive. Another 40 minutes later I call to get an update and they hang up on me when they see my number. Never told me they couldn’t tow me, never told me they couldn’t come out, never told me to call someone else. Just decided not get me after telling me they would and stopped answering.
I sold my car on 4/11/17 this guy came too my house with a truck and dolly. I was at work we talked over the phone. I agreed too let him get the vehicle and come too were i.work for the tiltle. He signed it and I signed it. When I got home I noticed that I lost the lower part bill of sells. About a month aferwards I found it and turn it in the DMV. Later on in october I get this notice that I owe the tow company 2,060.00 and that im responsible for the strorage fee etc. I took a picture of evefything I have too prove I sold the car including the bill of sale lower peice of the title. I talkeg too them and expalined also. They agree too drop it and now it started again. First of all their paperwork is false and fraudulent. I have proof in pictures and text and post. They claimed they towed the car on 2/18/17 and occuring charges unti 9/15/17 they never had the car in that time frame alone. They made up the dates and I have proof I actully had the car in my possession. I sold it on 4/11/17 This whole ordeal doesnt make since. They wont even work with me and their cocky and very rude. Im just trying too get the resolved.
