I recently bought a 2007 honda from 24/7 cars a month ago. The only problem they told me about was it needed a new $150 battery which could be bought from ***. I got approved for financing through Eagle financing but could not go right away because the system was down so they let me drive it off of the lot. The seller seemed eager to get me to buy the car which soon I figured out why. As soon as I got out of the lot the check engine light came on which I called them and they said it was due to the battery being bad. I went and bought a battery for it and the light was still on. I went to get the code read and it was the IMA battery which is a $3000 fix. After telling them that the problem was a $3000 fix, the seller argued with me telling me that I was wrong. When I finally got to the financing place they finance through, I was presented with an even BIGGER headache. I was never approved for the loan to finance the car they just wanted to get it off of the lot. The paperwork Eagle Financing got said I made more money than I actually did. The entire situation has just been shady from the start. I had to go to a different loan place and pray that they approved me which they did. To top this entire situation off, a few weeks ago the car would not start. The cheapest IMA battery I found was used and it was still $1200 minus the cost of labor.
I have had a chance to review Ms.s complaint letter. We feel very strongly that this letter is unjust in many aspects of the complaint. Ms. did in fact purchase the Honda from 24/7 Cars. She, along with her family, visited our location to look at the Honda Civic we had listed for sale. The family took the car for a test drive and inspected it thoroughly on Wednesday September 19, 2018. They spent roughly 2 hours contemplating the vehicle and waiting to see if an approval was possible. After we had told them, that in fact we were able to get them approved, they decided to think about it. We 100% understand when making a large purchase it is not always in the best interest to make it that day. We did not call or email her back, but they reached out to us and let us know that they were ready to purchase on September 21, 2018. We do tell everyone, every time that we recommend taking the car to an independent mechanic. We do not even keep a mechanic on staff due to the fact we do not want to be know as a dealership that hides issues or anything of the such. We outsource all of our service work to different mechanic shops around the area and pay top dollar doing so, even though we know bringing a mechanic on staff would save us money. Ms. declined that. Ms. also at the time of purchase wanted a warranty which we were able to get her approved on. Within 2 weeks of purchase she had already cancelled the warranty. As for the financing issue, the system for Eagle was in fact down due to computer issues. We not only trusted Ms. but let her take the car off the lot without us even receiving the money to finalize the deal due to the fact she needed transportation. Once Eagle Financial got their computers working we made sure to let her know so she could go and finalize the loan. It took Ms. 3 extra days to get in there before she finally did it. This whole time we never made an attempt to get our vehicle back. Any information on the credit application that is false was due to her producing inaccurate information on the credit application she submitted from our website, because we print that and send it directly to Eagle. When financing was coming to a close, Eagle's sister company found they could get her a better payment and did the deal there. It was all done to assist the customer. A few weeks after purchase Ms. did message us to let us know there was an issue with the battery. When Andrew, our sales rep, stated that we would see how we could help she told him that we had already gotten our money and that she was sure we would do nothing to help. Ms. signed multiple forms stating the car was purchased as is and 24/7 Cars feels at this time that we need to do nothing to help.
