Lifetime membership is a scam! Sales ***Promise all club acess and yearly membership fee that let's you go to any clubAlso fee is verry small for yearly renewal feeThey open new clubs call them higher level club access & charge you extra to gYour yearly fee that was told to you was small amount can get raised @ any timeBefore you know it you'll be paying high fees & not able to go to clubs

Filthy women's showers Mold, hair, roaches Management unresponsive and dismissive of complaints by many users of the facility Calls to Orange Count Health Services show they is no agency responsible for enforcing cleanliness in such facilities Almost impossible to lodge complaint Would have to sit on the line for anticipated "minute" wait to speak to Hr Fitness corporate Complaints lodged on website yield no response Employees fine Maintenance is the issue

Not all clubs have the same problem: old equipment that isn't calibratedThis became a big issue when I moved to a neighborhood that had a club a mile from homeThe place (paint, floor, equipment) looks outdatedOne morning I thought I needed a tetanus shot when I leftThe best club is miles from me and I can't afford the membership+time+gasCanceling a membership is easy for most businesses; Hour Fitness requires you to speak ON-SITE with a manager, who works in the middle of the day (while you're at work) or to call their corporate officeWhy doesn't their corporate office care about the difference in equipment (and locker rooms) between clubs?

Do not go to the facility in Allen TXMost do not know what is happening inside this club and have the right to know as a member The management is the worst I've seenClif seems to try for the Kids Club, but is all talk and no actionPromises toys and materials will be purchased and never follows throughThere is little formal training for Highschool graduates and up and no supportThey are CPR trained and work hard, but are treated horriblyNo set schedules and management never seems to know what they are doing or how to schedule correctly They have the childcare worker fill out an incident report but then never follow up on themThat is the point of a reportYour children are not safe hereIf reports are not followed by an action of suspension, a child or children, who should not be there will eventually hurt your childThere are no separate areas for different ages, even though it has been suggested to make a separate infant areaIt also has never been followed upLately, there was a wrongful termination, in my opinionA boy, who loved working with the children and they loved him, was let go because a fight happened and they said he did not react quickly enoughpeople in an area and he is the only one let goAt the time, and it is on tape, he was holding a child and verbally telling the children to stopWhen it definitely was getting worse, he put the child down, got between them and an incident report was writtenpeople and he was the only one who reacted but he was let goWhy? That's hard to know, but you don't see a lot of boys working in the Kids Club area do you? Think about it He was humiliated and told to go to the Child center to let the other worker know he had to leave and why in front of the childrenThis is a managers jobThe other involved in this incident, one was checking people in and the other one...well she was there somewhere? She says bathroom but the incident was minutes long according to managementWhy has she not been fired for either not being at her area or ignored the situation completely?? So the one person, who did react, is let goSeem wrong? It gets worseThe missing girl in this incident has also had other issues, but is somehow still thereShe is either late or doesn't show upShe even text her manager that she partied too much and that is why she wasn't there that morningShe brought blades into work that were confiscated by her managerShe has left crying numerous times, left work early for cramps, caught sleeping while working and has had headphones in her earsHard to hear the children that way? Yet, somehow this person still remains employed? How? Nobody has any ideaBut a very hard working boy is told to leave after one incident when others were there as wellHe's told he hasn't reacted beforeThis is not true and never has had a verbal or written warning prior to this incidentWrongful termination? I absolutely believe soNow on to outside the Child CenterThe new manager [redacted] and [redacted] were investigated and found guilty for not following protocol with members accountsIn fact, not legalYet, they are still there? There is no cohesive atmosphereRarely does the front desk want to help out the child center when needed, and lack of support in all areas in regards to managementThere are many reports on this site about member fees and that is also an issue at this club as wellMain focus..knowing what you do now, do you feel safe leaving your children in an area that is not backed up by management? The rest of the child care staff are working hard and writing reports that go ignoredIf you would like play equipment, a separate infant area and toys, let management know and loudly

I signed up for a membership with a salesperson at the Downey, CA locationShe quoted the membership price as being a set amount per month with an up front feeThe contract was presented on the computer in which she stated has all the standard provisions and the pricing she told me aboutFlash forward to months later and I am being charged an annual fee of $The salesperson did not tell me about the fee and quickly sped through it on the computer screen as it was coming to the end of her shift and she wanted to help me quickly before she leftIf I had known there was an annual fee in addition to an upfront fee and a monthly fee, I would have reconsidered my membershipIn calling customer service, they said there is nothing they can do for me as it is included in the contract and I am locked into a month commitmentIf I want to cancel, I have to pay the remainder of the monthly feesI do not agree with these shady sales practices and will be looking to do business with another company with more transparency

I have been to several 24Hour Fitness locations, but the club I use regularly is the [redacted] in Mountain View, CAAcross every club I have visited, poor maintenance is a consistent themeShort term maintenance of the locker rooms and wet area (including the pool and sauna/steam rooms) is terrible: often times they are so filthy I consider them unuseableComplaints to the associates at the front desk have warranted a wide array of reactions from contempt at my audacity to complain about it, to excuses that their cleaning is contracted during weekdays only and "it's not in my job description." Long term maintenance of the facility and equipment itself is also fraught with issues: they regularly shut down or limit the hours of the wet-area amenities, towel service was suspended for months because their supplier was on backorder, and the mats, foam rollers, and other short-lived products don't seem to have a replacement cycleFor the cardio machines, almost every machine has at least some limit in functionality regarding the buttons or settingsThose which are fully functional are almost constantly in use, so there's an uneven wearing of their durable equipmentWhen I inquired about maintenance, the manager on duty advised me that they share one equipment maintainer between three locations and he rarely has time to service equipment before it's completely brokenWhen I asked about lifecycle replacements or upgrading to newer machines, the MANAGER looked at me like he didn't understand what I was talking aboutI suppose those treadmills and ellipticals are supposed to last forever In summary, the maintenence of the facility and its equipment are a reflection of the dedication of the staff and management to creating positive experience to their guests; evidently, there is no desire to uphold any standard of their employees, their equipment, or their facilitiesThe corporate call center doesn't appear to be any different than the physical locations, as a call to address a minor administrative issue has ALWAYS resulted in 30+ minutes of hold timePrevious calls with complaints have resulted in ZERO follow up or effort to address my concernsHow the Revdex.com has given this an A+ rating is beyond me; out of the reviews as of the time of this post were negativeAn A+ business should consistently produce positive experiences for its customers, being good at reacting to complaints (not true in my experience) warrants a D rating, as an average company doesn't start with an 11.7% positive experience rate to begin withYou, Revdex.com, should better screen your ratings before doling out A+ grades: YOU may lose YOUR credibility

,Hour Fitness is the best Athletic Club I have ever joined The Manager [redacted] reslly makes one feel welcome The personal trainners are very knowledgeable and supportive to members The cleaning, safety, maintenance of all equipment are always kept up I will recommend this club to any year old or older because of their equipment and the number of pools

I have been mistreated and disrespected repeatedly at this club, and have been forced to never return Here are just three incidents that happened in one week alone 1) Upon leaving one day, the front desk service manager, Christina, yelled at me as I was walking out, then loudly in front of other guests and staff began to tell me I should better parent at home, because that day my year old son didn't share as well as she thought he should, and she felt that his not sharing would lead to violent behavior Learning to share is a cognitive behavior for 3+ year olds, and unless she has a degree in child development, she has no authority to make such assumptions and to reprimand me and my child in front of the entire club over a trivial matter 2) That same day, upon our arrival, there was another parent in the kids club so I waited over minutes before I could go in, no one bothered to courteously update me to the situation that the room was at capacity and they were waiting on another team member to come in That team member coming in happened to be Christina, the front desk "service" manager, and when we entered and my three year old son innocently said ‘my mom said this was taking a long time’, in a very condescending tone, she sing-songed directly to him that THEY were just worried about his safety, and we all should be able to wait so everyone is safe Implying that I didn’t care about his safety, even though I had no idea what the situation had been, and completely disrespected me directly to my child 3) Also that week I ran outside after my cardio to take a quick phone call Upon re-entering minutes later, I walked back towards the kids club, and Christina YELLED at me to come back there and sign in right now She did not politely and professionally inform me of the enter/exit policy (that if you walk out the door for even seconds you have to sign back in, this is something that clearly should be explained upfront) and ask courteously for me to sign in once more, she rudely shouted at me to get back to sign in, and when I stated I didn’t understand since I’d been working out for an hour, she said if I didn’t sign back in after exiting the door for even a minute, they would will all get fired Her attitude was shocking, disrespectful and highly unprofessional, and more concerning very abrasive Her continued attitude and mistreatment of guests is unacceptable in my opinion, I’m paying monthly dues to work out, unwind, and feel better about myself - I do not go there to be yelled at, talked down to, and disrespected I also do not want her around my children ever again, because I personally feel that people with such aggressive attitudes should not be placed as caregivers

The location in santa barbara is amazingThey are a super sport and it's about timeI am a Marine Corps vet with multiple issuesWhen I got out of the marine corps, it took me roughly 25min just to get out of bed in the morning but since I started going to it has gotten so much betterI take yoga and use the jacuzzi and now it only takes me minutes to get out of bedMost of the guys that work there are military vets so I feel like this is the best place for me!!! stars

On 8/16/2016, my wife informed me that she noticed an unrecognized debit was made to our bank account in the amount of $The debit description showed that is was made by Hour Fitness on 8/8/We were puzzled as no other charges have been incurred since when my son and I stopped going to Hour Fitness in Colorado Springs, COWe both had separate memberships but my son had a month-to-month contract On 8/19/2016, I visited the Hour Fitness facility on North Academy to inquire about the chargeI spoke with the manager on duty at the facilityThe manager informed me that she would not be able to speak about the account because the membership was in my son's name and not mine (she mistakenly found another member with the same name)I explained that my son is a minor, that I am his parent, and that the charge was made to my personal bank accountThus, I reasoned, I had the right to inquire about the charge After agreeing to speak with me after I provided my son's date of birth, I discovered that the $was an annual fee assessed to all active membership accountsI explained that my son has not visited the facility since around March The manager explained that the account was “frozen” but not “canceled”By freezing the account, she told me, the account is still considered active but monthly billings do not occur I asked to cancel the account and refund the annual membership feeMy reasoning was that it was obvious I would not be renewing my son's membership since we have not used the facility in over a year and a halfShe explained that the charge was non-refundable within daysI missed the deadline by days I asked what services were rendered by Hour Fitness for $The manager explained that my son had “access to the facility” and that the membership fee was a “loyalty rate” for current members I also asked that she verify that my son has not visited the facility recentlyAfter consulting the computer records for several minutes, the manager verified he had not used the facility which would have resulted in the “frozen” account being converted to a “billing” account I was expecting Hour Fitness to do the right thing and refund the unused annual membership feeI expressed my displeasure by the lack of customer service and the confusion over what constitutes a “frozen” membershipThe manager offered, and I accepted, a copy of the signed contractThe contract is an eight page contract written in dense legalese and in a very small, hard to read fontThe manager declined the refund and provide no further recourse to dispute the charge I sincerely regret ever doing business with Hour Fitness Because no goods or services were rendered by Hour Fitness, and money was taken from my bank account against my wishes, I filed a dispute form with my bank on 8/18/ The bank's representative informed me that the bank's anti-fraud department will be investigating the matter

Why is it that hr Fitness can allow new customers to join on a Saturday or Sunday but when you want to cancel the membership they require a manager to do the paperwork (only Monday thru Friday)? And by the way, why isn't it possible to do it online! As far as the showers and bathrooms are concerned, our public beaches (& state prisons probably) have better up keepLast gripe: Our family purchased dozens of training sessions through the years but when the last trainer we used left the job before completing all sessions, it took us weeks of complaining until we were given the last sessions that were owed to usI'm glad to be rid of this place finally - well on Monday when the computers/managers become available to process the cancellation

My year daughter had put a freeze on her account that was somehow linked to my cancelled account and therefore my bank accountHour Fitness charged my account a monthly fee at the end of her freeze period without notifying meWhen I calle dto ask for a refund they refused stating that they had notified my daughterWhen I pointed out that they should have charged her bank account instead of mine, they said that when I initially signed up for my account I signed an agrement that authorized them to do thisThis is just wrong and really unfair and unscrupulous business practices! It is not the amount I was wrongfully charged ($28.63), it is the principleI will do everything in my power to make people awa re of their poor customer service and business ethics

I've been a member of Hour Fitness for about years A few years ago, I paid about $1,up front for three years of membership to have my renewal rate to be $a year The only reason I put the $1,is so that I can get a very low renewal fee However, I'm told that Hour Fitness was bought out by another company and the fine print on the contract states that the rates can be increased on sale of the company My rate jacked up from $to $ I am one of thousands of people who have posted and one of millions who have been affected by this The excuse they are giving is that they want to improve our experience at the gyms, but we know darn well that this is to instantly boost their profit into their pockets I'm sure that this can add up to hundreds of millions of dollars All of us affected were assured by the sales person that the renewal will be at the low rate at the time of the signing The "bait and switch" tactic is absolutely outrageous The insulting thing about this is, the increase is not high enough for us to leave and join another club And the attitude of the member service reps were the same...take it or leave it

I contacted hour fitness back in December to place my account on a freeze for a few months since I was not utilizing my servicesThe representative told me she had processed my request and that I wouldn't be charged until my freeze was lifted in AprilI checked my bank account and payments have been processed for January and FebruaryI called them to cancel my membership and get a refund for the months the charged me forWhile the representative was extremely courtesy, they did not resolve my issue and told me the best they could do is to place my account on freeze and credit me a membership fee at the end of the freeze

Messed up contract paying method for both me and my husband from day Terminate my husband's contract by their payment mistakeTrapped him to sign up a new contractNot willing to make a correctionDon't not reply our inquire

I went to my local gym to become a member24Hour Fitness had sent me a membership offer, $month no new member fee and no commitmentAfter finding the manager and having some discussion about only wanting THIS offer, during the process of signing membership paperwork (the contract I'll be responsible for) I became uncomfortable with signing an electronic signature pad without knowing or seeing what I was signingWhen I asked Zachary, the manager, to show me what I'm signing, he asked if I thought he would be dishonestI told him it had nothing to do with him, I wanted to see what I'm signingHe then became verbally offensive and I stopped the membership process immediately stating that I did not want to be a member any longerAll of this was done at the front desk in view of everyoneI later spoke with a different gentleman who apologized for how I was treated

Im a current Graduate student, I put my account on hold because of my educationI have tried several times now to speak with someone about my accountIt seems that eventhough my account should have been on hold I have a balance dueI am ready to start back up, but I can't because I have a balance that should have been on holdTrying to speak with someone about the issue has been a great hassle

This company jacked up the membership renewal fee up to 50% all of sudden this year without explaining anythingI have been a member since and am supposed to have a constant flat rate after yrs full payment in the beginningThis is against the principles and it's a shame on this companyI don't think I am alone after reading the reviewsLet's join in hand to challenge this company's unfairly breaking the contract agreement

I am completely disappointed in who they allow to be a Service Manager at the Hour Fitness located in Boynton Beach FloridaThe gym is supposed to be a place where you improve yourself, not only physically but mentallyOn Sunday 6/28/the Service Manager named [redacted] made horrible and unprofessional comments about meComments such as, I'm the "gym ***" and if he "can have a piece of me next"Never have I ever experienced something like thisI surely hope this escalates because I would never want this to happen to someone who goes to the gymFortunately, I am an individual who is secure in who I am, but there are others who aren't and can take those type of comments very personallyI would not recommend this gym location to anyone with this type of management

The club's manager is really lazy and inconsiderate I told Mr [redacted] that the lyrics a young man was singing made me feel uncomfortable He was cursing loudly and saying obscene things he would do to a woman The manager suggested I go somewhere else where I would be more comfortable Well, I never
