Before we signed our lease I read the reviews online for this company. I knew we shouldn't have rented the house, but our area is limited on rentals, and we had our backs up against a wall after relocating from a different state. IF YOU ARE A PROPERTY OWNER OR POTENTIAL TENANT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They also had the name "REI Properties" which I am assuming they changed the name due to the bad reviews online. Also I know I had read bad reviews on Facebook when researching them but miraculously they are all gone now.
On previous reviews I read that they use a flat paint or either it's really cheap because when water hits the wall it leaves a mark. I agree with the previous tenant, same thing is happening at our house. I think it's so they can keep your deposit and make money off of you to pay their maintenance people to paint the house.
We put in a maintenance request a week after we moved in because the dryer vent was clogged. They never called to schedule to come fix it. My husband finally had to do it himself so I could do laundry. The owner of the home recently sold it and the new owners are using a different management company. Smart move! Last night my husband and I started getting inundated with text and emails asking to set an appointment to fix our clogged dryer vent 11 months later! When I called them this morning to get these alerts to stop I spoke with the manager. She transferred me to a lady in maintenance. I will be honest I am so fed up with this company I was not very nice. I told her what was going on and she said that they are purging their system. I asked by purging the system does she mean answering all the maintenance request they never took care of from 11 months ago. I told her this is probably why they have a 1 star rating on google and also changed their name from REI because the reviews were so bad. She assured me they have plenty of people who love their company and said I will not insult their company like that and hung up on me (which I had also read they do in previous reviews). The office manager did call me back and asked me to forward the messages we had been receiving so she could remove the work order from their system. I told her what the maintenance lady did and her response was that they have a lot going on in the office right now. Extremely unprofessional.
First Choice Properties takes advantage of people. It's really sad and makes me sick! And one more thing, I agree with the previous reviews, good luck getting them to answer the phone. In all fairness this morning was the first time someone picked up the phone on the first call.
Ms. was one of our tenants. I checked, and she did put in a maintenance request in August of 2019 for the dryer vent. The ticket was closed. No other reference nor repeat maintenance request was ever made for it.
They put in another request in November 2019 that was handled within days. It was for a plumbing issue. There was no mention about the dryer vent at that time.
The property they occupy was sold by the owner to someone else who has opted to either manage it themselves or have another company do the management.
NOTE: External dryer vents are inspected before tenants move in. After they take possession, the tenants are responsible for cleaning out their own lint.
Toilet and tub stopped up with toxic waste. I'm not able to take a bath or take a bath . My ceiling in my roof is now leaking.
June 22,2020. Their site were you submit work order is down as well. So all I can do is call them.
I looking for them to fix my plumbing issue at a timely matter.
Per our maintenance coordinator, the following have been completed:
1. Roof Leak - Filed June 26th, the vendor completed July 1st the job and we do not show tenant sending any other melds
advising of issues
2. Plumbing - March 10th she filed this complaint this was during the initial COVID-19 shelter-in-placeorders, however the vendor
was able to eventually complete the plumbing repairs requested on June 26th.
3. Mildew - There was an appointment with the tenant for June 5th. Our vendor attempted to contact the tenant to take
care of this, but was unable to reach her.
Please note that the tenant never put in her own Melds (repair requests), she always said she was "unable to do it" we reset her password several times and tried to accommodate her repair issues in a timely manner. Also both coordinators were in contact with the tenant regarding repairs so she was never left unattended.
*During the shelter-in-place orders our vendors were allowed to go into homes ONLY if the situation was considered life-threatening.
