Review: Right around Sept. 20th 2012 took my [redacted] F-350 Crew Cab Dually to 2-K Express to have the oil changed. Was driving to Hobbs one day when the truck started shaking real bad, so I pulled over to see what it was when I noticed fire shooting out of the exhaust system, so I turned the engine off. Pulled the truck home because it would not start. Called [redacted] in Brownfield, TX. Took the truck to them. They said the motor was burnt up, and needed to have new motor put in, because there was to much oil in the motor that is why the #2 + #8 cylinder fryed the pistons we found out there was over 5.5 gallons of oil in the motor. So therefore when I took it in to have the oil changed, they did not draw old oil out, instead they added another 15 quarts on top off the old oil, which made it have over 5.5 gallons of bad oil, which is why the motor burnt up. I am sending paper work from [redacted] showing what happens when there is to much oil in the crank case. Also sending the bill, this is what it cost me to have new motor put in my truck.Desired Settlement: Just for them to pay the cost of having new motor put in truck. $13,099.00

I am writing to respond to the complaint initiated by [redacted] alleges services rendered at ZK Express Lube, Inc. led to engine problems that occurred on May 4, 2013. We have reviewed our service log with [redacted]’s vehicle and have concluded that our services are not the cause of the vehicle’s mechanical malfunctions.

Our service log (Exhibit A) shows that [redacted] had his vehicle serviced regularly for oil changes from October 2010 through August 2012. During this time period, [redacted] had not expressed problems with the products used or the services rendered.

Per the complaint filed with the Revdex.com, [redacted] had his vehicle serviced “around Sept 2012”. [redacted] also asserts that the problem with his engine began May 4, 2013. This would have been 8 moths after the vehicle had been serviced at ZK Express Lube.

[redacted] acquired documentation from [redacted] regarding the possible causes of his engine malfunction (Exhibit B). The document states: “The two common causes of this is an injector that is leaking at the injector jam nut. The other is a high pressure pump that is leaking at the shaft seal.” As these two probable malfunctions caused [redacted]’s engine malfunction and neither of these items are part of the oil change process we request that this complaint be dismissed as unfounded.
