Yard E Scape Reviews (1)

Review: From my letter to the owner of the business on August 7, 2014:Dear [redacted]:The purpose of this letter is to dispute the charges for 7/30/14 on your invoice [redacted] (dated 8/2/14, but received 8/7/14) due to incomplete work and damage to property. As was communicated in a phone message immediately after the service visit on Wednesday, 7/30/13, I was at the site and observing the work done that day from the bay window overlooking the front of the property. The first thing I noticed when you arrived is that you drove over the decorative ivy in front of our house as you were backing your truck and trailer into the parking space. You were looking backwardss the whole time (as one should when backing into a tight space), but there is still no excuse for driving over our landscaping. In providing a landscaping service to us, you should be improving the appearance of our property, not damaging it. I was going to discuss this with you before you left that day, but the second thing that I observed is that you left after only one and a half hours. The charges you quoted for the regular maintenance (edge, mow, and blow) was 3 hours for each trip at $30 an hour for that basic service, $90 per trip total (unlless we agreed on additional work and additional time at $30 per hour, whieh we had not done for that particular date). While I understand that the time during each trip may vary a bit, half the promised time is extremely low, particularly considering the damage to the ivy noted above. Just as importantly, however, there was work that was not completed on that day, 7/30/14: first, the edging wasnt completed on the lawns there was ivy growing over the lawn in front of the house, and 2) the blowing was not finished there was an unusally large amount of unsightly debris left on the front porch.

Further from my letter:Considering the incomplete work and damage to the ivy on that day, please remove the charges ($90) for 7/30/14 and resubmit the invoice for payment. The remaining charges for the prior two visits, including the additional one hour of work on 7/16/14, should be $210.Further, please discontinue service at our property. Ive found the quaity of the work increasingly unsatisfactory, and have arranged for another service to take over the maintenance of our property.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2014/09/12) */

Contact Name and Title: [redacted]

I am prepared to meet the complaintant's desired resolution. The question was posed as to how much he desired to be taken off the bill, and his answer came in the form of the letter and complaint to Revdex.com. Although I do not agree with his allegations I will meet his demands.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 11, 2014/09/17) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

The only communication prior to this that I have received from the business was an invoice for the full amount, including for work that was not completed, and not acknowledging the damage to the ivy. The question was not posed to me as to how much needs to be taken off the bill. The amount to be taken off the bill to address these issues was stated in my letter to the business and in this complaint to the Revdex.com: $90. Please submit a revised invoice for the adjusted total of $210, which we will promptly pay, and we will consider this matter resolved. By the way, the new landscape service is less expensive and has been doing a much more thorough and better job.

Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2014/09/29) */

I agree to reduce the invoice by $90.00 and send a hard copy in the mail as requested.

Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 15, 2014/09/30) */

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

That is all we are asking for. We will pay the adjusted/corrected invoice as soon as it is received. Thank you.
