Yankee Peddler and Pawn Reviews (4)

I want to make known to you Yankee *** & Peddler (“YPP”) my great dismay & dissatisfaction with the sale & after sale handling of the ** *** *** that I purchased from “YPP”Originally, I was told all the selling points of that unit, it has blue ray DVD drive, tri core processor & blah, blah, blah.   I commented about the icons that were missing from the desktop and was told that I could reset the unit back to its factory
settings unfortunately, that couldn’t have been any further from the truth!  Obviously a “YPP” employee assigned “YPP” as the user name at the logon screen – that being stated; I would imagine that same person inspected (tested) that laptop before putting money in the hands of the person pawning it, I’m bewildered as to why the problem with the laptop wasn’t revealed when so much time was spent telling me of the units attributes The problem was that the “system image” (“factory settings” track on the hard drive) had been erased, it didn’t take me but minutes to realize that … it appears that ““YPP”” deliberately put a laptop out for purchase knowing there was a problem with that missing (and most important) part of the hard drive, again, “YPP” staff never mentioned that, of course, that’s why there was only one (1) icon on the computers desktop
After making my complaint, bringing the unit in and explaining the issue (that the “system image” was missing) when I picked the computer up the following day, I was told by a “YPP” staff member “all set” … i.e.;  the problem was remedied I got to work and found the computer was NOT “all set”; it was given back to me in exactly the same deficient condition that I returned it in, one icon on the desktop and all“All set”, how is the computer “All set” when the missing “system image” that obviously had been erased before my purchase was still missing, hence; the computer cannot be reset to factory settings, so how could it be “All set”?
“All set”, how could the computer be “all set” when you cannot download the “system image” via the Internet to replace it … how is that “All set”?
“All set”, Do you have the “installation disks” to that computer … if you don’t, then the computers “system image” issue could not have been resolved without them … were their installation disks that came with the computer when it was pawned – then why weren’t they included in the sale?
All set”, did “YPP” honestly think that I wouldn’t notice the issue wasn’t resolved just from looking at the desktop? I knew I had been deceived the instant I saw the desktop, after it was supposedly “all set”Back in May I purchased a laptop from “YPP”, it  had no noteworthy issues and I was happy with the purchase so I made this second  recent purchase of another laptop for the home business I’m in the process starting – I came back a second time because, I trusted “YPP” was an honest business establishment.  When I first looked that laptop (the one that I’m referring to), I thought that the previous owner had just removed the icons to save disk space (like I tend to do), but of course telling me all the great selling points and deliberately excluding   the problem with that laptop is; (call it what you will) is “dishonest” and then to tell me that the computer is “all set” (as in “fixed”), there’s a word for that as wellLet me share a little story about this matter … To my surprise this matter had gotten around “*** * *** ***” after a friend asked how I made out with that new computer … three (3) days later nearly thirty (30) people from Groton/ New London/ Norwich and the outlying areas had responded to what my co-worker put out directly to one (1) person on *** … People both; love stories about business with less than honorable practices and … have long memoriesAlthough I will share this letter with the appropriate agencies and credit card departments, I won’t press the issue any further than to let them see my experience with your “*** Shop” … I’ll spend the additional forty dollars to get the installation disks to fix the computer (once and for all), that’s forty ($40) dollars that “YPP” will not be getting (along with any future business) from meThis is the way “YPP” would treat a customer (my experience with "YPP"), then “YPP” does not need (nor deserve) “my” patronage … no matter who was treated in that manner*** *

To whom it may concern, My name is Chad L[redacted] owner of Yankee Peddler and Pawn, just recently I received email form Revdex.com saying [redacted] had a complaint. When I read the complaint I was shocked. Dave who is mentioned in the complaint is the manger in our Groton location and has been dealing with this...

customer for well over a year. When a customer does the loan they have 30 days to either redeem the loan or make an extension payment, failure to do so the loan or items go in to default. We have been in Business for over 20 years, because we over extend those loans many many months over the do dates to help our customers out, Thats why we have a 5 star rating on google for all 3 locations. In this case this customers has called and has come in every month just to tell Dave she had things going on and can not pay. So after 5 months of non payment the last conversation was the final notice to inform her we no longer can hold on the items she had with us. She came in after the complaint and we are working again with her to redeem the most important items. We had found out after though she had left the complaint. She is do to come in on march 3 to redeem those items. Thank you Chad L[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I [redacted] made a complaint against a man named Dave who works at yankee peddler and pawn in Groton Ct Dave and I worked things out so everything is good, and at the time I made the complaint I was just really upset I would like the complain closed
Sincerely,
[redacted]

I want to make known to you Yankee [redacted] & Peddler (“YPP”) my great dismay & dissatisfaction with the sale & after sale handling of the [redacted] that I purchased from “YPP”.
Originally, I was told all the selling points of that unit, it has blue ray DVD drive, tri core processor & blah, blah, blah. I commented about the icons that were missing from the desktop and was told that I could reset the unit back to its factory

The problem was that the “system image” (“factory settings” track on the hard drive) had been erased, it didn’t take me but 4 minutes to realize that … it appears that ““YPP”” deliberately put a laptop out for purchase knowing there was a problem with that missing (and most important) part of the hard drive, again, “YPP” staff never mentioned that, of course, that’s why there was only one (1) icon on the computers desktop
After making my complaint, bringing the unit in and explaining the issue (that the “system image” was missing) when I picked the computer up the following day, I was told by a “YPP” staff member “all set” … i.e.; the problem was remedied ... I got to work and found the computer was NOT “all set”; it was given back to me in exactly the same deficient condition that I returned it in, one icon on the desktop and all.
“All set”, how is the computer “All set” when the missing “system image” that obviously had been erased before my purchase was still missing, hence; the computer cannot be reset to factory settings, so how could it be “All set”?
“All set”, how could the computer be “all set” when you cannot download the “system image” via the Internet to replace it … how is that “All set”?
“All set”, Do you have the “installation disks” to that computer … if you don’t, then the computers “system image” issue could not have been resolved without them … were their installation disks that came with the computer when it was pawned – then why weren’t they included in the sale?
All set”, did “YPP” honestly think that I wouldn’t notice the issue wasn’t resolved just from looking at the desktop? I knew I had been deceived the instant I saw the desktop, after it was supposedly “all set”.
Back in May I purchased a laptop from “YPP”, it had no noteworthy issues and I was happy with the purchase so I made this second recent purchase of another laptop for the home business I’m in the process starting – I came back a second time because, I trusted “YPP” was an honest business establishment. When I first looked that laptop (the one that I’m referring to), I thought that the previous owner had just removed the icons to save disk space (like I tend to do), but of course telling me all the great selling points and deliberately excluding the problem with that laptop is; (call it what you will) is “dishonest” and then to tell me that the computer is “all set” (as in “fixed”), there’s a word for that as well.
Let me share a little story about this matter … To my surprise this matter had gotten around “[redacted]” after a friend asked how I made out with that new computer … three (3) days later nearly thirty (30) people from Groton/ New London/ Norwich and the outlying areas had responded to what my co-worker put out directly to one (1) person on [redacted] … People both; love stories about business with less than honorable practices and … have long memories. Although I will share this letter with the appropriate agencies and credit card departments, I won’t press the issue any further than to let them see my experience with your “[redacted] Shop” … I’ll spend the additional forty dollars to get the installation disks to fix the computer (once and for all), that’s forty ($40) dollars that “YPP” will not be getting (along with any future business) from me.
This is the way “YPP” would treat a customer (my experience with "YPP"), then “YPP” does not need (nor deserve) “my” patronage … no matter who was treated in that manner.
