I have worked in the Pest Control business for close to twenty years and have never had a complaint filed with the Revdex.com. I have done this customer's pest control for going on twelve years with no complaints until now. Concerning her request for a refund, it is stipulated in our agreement that all...

sales are final. We serviced her home for termites in 2008 and the agreement came with a five year guarantee. Her yearly renewal was due on Dec. of 2013, and we were kind enough to extend payment to January of 2014 for her.She has never had recurrence of termites since we treated her home. The issue at hand is the scorpions she is finding. We have dusted the wall voids surrounding her home, and just recently dusted the attic. She has found two scorpions in the home in the past four months. The last one she saw was on the ceiling in her bedroom. I explained that the attic dusting could have flushed it out. She responded by saying that she had talked to "experts" who told her that attic dusting in not effective in scorpion control. Attic dusting has been a staple for scorpion control in attic areas for over 30 years. It is the only way to effectively and safely treat the attic area. It has been my experience that people with phobias to certain insects can react irrationally. I think this complaint is irrational and can not understand how after all these years of service she feels I have no integrity and am out to swindle her some how.We do not have our customer's sign contracts, so they can discontinue service at any time. I wished her well and told her I hoped she could find a resolution to her scorpion problem. In return she sent me an email saying if she did not receive her refund, she would file complaints with Yelp,The Revdex.com, and she threatened legal action.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
This person knows I have NOT had 2 scorpions in the last 4 months but 6 in the last 8 months.  I have reported every one of them to him, so his comment is false. He never told me the dusting would flush them into my home until after the fact.  He does use out of date methods, something I discovered after I talking to a number of people in the business and a number of people who are scientists studying scorpions. I told him this and he nonetheless insists I am irrational, a common complaint about women, making his comment a nasty and sexist attack on me. He is not a psychologist and should not try to practice psychology!  I am not irrational but feel he has not properly addressed the problem.  Every time there was a scorpion he did one more thing--more indoor spraying, spraying the block walls, the attic dusting--and they did not help and in the case of the dusting made things worse.  He does not even offer in his reply to maintain the termite contract until the end which is an indication of his  failure to live up to that contract and not even promise to do that job as contracted as a counteroffer to my request.   At this point, I restate my request.  He can reduce the amount by the extra month (Dec-Jan), if that works.  I'm willing to make a compromise and ask that he do the same.  A good history in the past is no guarantee of continuing good work and in this case his work has become careless.
Regards,
