Ms [redacted] was refunded in full on 14-Dec for the 12-Dec excursion on which the motorcoach experienced mechanical difficulties and delays
Clipper Vacations would like to respond to *** ** ***’s recent complaint regarding her trip on the Victoria Clipper. On May 20, 2017 Ms. *** departed Seattle to Victoria at 7:am, arriving into Victoria at 10:am. She was scheduled to depart
Victoria and return to Seattle at 7:pm. She stopped by our ticket counter in Victoria at about 5:pm and spoke to a reservation agent and a leadhand. She wanted to pre-board and she spoke about different ethnic people and was insisting that we don’t have any Chinese people sitting next to her on the trip back to Seattle. She didn’t provide us with information to substantiate any valid issue with a specific customer that needed to be addressed. Ms*** was advised that she could choose where she sits when she boarded, but we couldn’t guarantee who she would be sitting near. Clipper offers an open seating arrangement allowing passengers to select seats of their choice based upon availability. We have a variety of customers traveling from all over the world with different race, religion, and ethnic backgrounds. On June 7, 2017, Ms*** called our administration office and spoke to Chelsea at our reception desk. She told Chelsea that she wanted someone to call her back regarding a refund. Chelsea took her name and phone number and asked our Reservations Manager, Michelle to call her back. Ms*** told Michelle that three girls were in line and were giggling at her while she was in Customs. Michelle asked a couple of more questions trying to figure out what happened and Ms*** told Michelle that she was bothering her at a public place where calls are being recorded. Ms*** said that Michelle was being nasty and forcing her to tell her about her disability. Michelle never asked about a disability and was just trying to get the details about why Ms*** was calling asking for a refund. Michelle explained that she was just returning the call per Ms***’s request. Ms*** made various allegations to Michelle saying that she was rude and nasty. Michelle spoke professionally and politely to Ms*** during the entire call. Ms*** kept saying that Michelle was bothering her while she was outside of a doctor’s office and Michelle offered to let her go and ended the call. During this call, Michelle was never able to confirm specifically why Ms*** was asking for a refund. Shortly after the call with Michelle, Ms*** emailed our Chief Operating Officer, David G*** claiming that Chelsea called Ms*** under another alias and was offensive, insinuated that Ms*** was a liar and was argumentative. The call that she was referring to was the call with Michelle. Ms*** received her services that she purchased from Clipper Vacations and we are unable to substantiate that any of our staff treated Ms*** inappropriately. We are unable to offer any refund to Ms*** at this time. Sincerely, Joan R***Vice-President of ReservationsClipper Navigation, Inc
