I have been referred by the Federal Trade Commission to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Iowa City, Iowa to further investigate the business practices of these background check "services." I will work with them concerning the incorrect information these "services" post on their websites and try to come up with a way for the consumers to check, free of charge and annually, the information in order to dispute and correct all the bad info. Firstly, I am NOT a customer and have never claimed to be a customer of Verispy. Please pay attention to the words I write. Second, the name [redacted] is clearly male. Please do not refer to me as a she. Third, I have no e-mail or purchase number to provide you because, once again, I am not a customer of yours. Fourth, I have NEVER implied any services rendered or money exchanged. Fifth, all e-mail communications I have had with your company have DEMANDED driver's license and other identifying documents in order for you to remove my Personal Identifying Information (PII) from your site and services. I will NOT be providing you any documentation that could be used to further harm my name or further facilitate any form of identity theft. Sixth, if your optout department is the only department that can remove my information from your site and services, then I would request you e-mail them and request the entries be removed. This is a simple, easy and reasonable resolution. Thank you.

YOUR stringent security policies mean absolutely nothing to me. I have 42 years worth of free credit report checks saved from the federal government, the state government, the colleges I've attended, Target, student loan facilitators, doctor's offices, and more...because of the strict security protocols they had in place that were meant to protect my identity and information.....which all failed. I am NOT giving you a thing. You are attempting to make money off of MY personal information, WITHOUT my consent. Remove MY personal information from your site and services IMMEDIATELY.

To whom this may concern, As mentioned in our previous correspondence the only order registered under the username [redacted] and name [redacted] is for a single $2.95 trial offer, there are no other purchases registered under this account. The customer was never re-billed for the order in question. I also wish to inform the customer that we do not access nor collect any of our subscribers' billing information, including credit card numbers or any other billing information. All of our transactions are processed reliably and securely through [redacted]. Also after referencing our customer support ticket system we are able to locate 14 messages that were received 3/30th through 4/02 from this customer, as they are associated with the customer’s user ID and email. Our customer support team has responded to all of the customers non-duplicate email requests and has processed the cancelation request in a timely manner during our business hours. Just to insure that the customer received the responses we have also resent some of our responses to earlier messages. If the customer is not receiving our support emails we suggest adding our support email address to her whitelist. Some email service provider may use filters, which may mistakenly mark our emails sent to your email address as spam or junk. To avoid this problem, we ask for you to add [redacted] and [redacted] to your address book. Also I want to reiterate the fact that we are not associated with [redacted] in any way, if the customer has an issue concerning a purchase made from that vendor we suggest that she contacts them directly.

5-day trial subscription costing $2.95 and per the customer’s request it was canceled on the date of 04-01-2018 10:11:54In fact per the notations listed on the customer’s account our customer support team has reached out to the customer on multiple occasions confirming the cancelation. The $2.95 trial was the only purchase we were able to locate for this customer, and at the current time her account remains canceled in deactivated status, no further billing is scheduled for her account.
