V.A.S.S. Siding Company Reviews (7)

The information that [redacted] provided to the Revdex.com as well as us is very misleading. First of all the Proposal for the Job was just about seven (7) years ago, and clearly said that the Company Guarantee was for one year, and any Warrantee after that date falls under either the Manufactures of...

the material or the Home Owners Insurance Guidelines. We had stated to [redacted] that we could not find the documentation(s) in our files under his name or the 2-3 year time frame he had stated. Either way we did go out to the property and provide the service or repairs he specified. It turns out that the original Proposal was under a previous owner of the property as well as a completely different date (which he properly provided to the Revdex.com in his complaint). We even went as far as asking him to provide the documentation that he had about the original Proposal and the doctored pictures that are provided in this response are what he provided us.
We bend over backwards to satisfy our customers as well as all of our fellow [redacted] residents with the absolute best service and value available anywhere, and this type of manipulation of the system is heart breaking as well as an attempt to take food from the tables of everyone involved with our company, and should be considered criminal.
The bottom line is that [redacted]’s concerns were addressed and satisfied (we are sure he did not bother to provide you or anyone else that he cried victim or bad mouthed us to), and in reality owes a fee to us for the services he received and needs to withdraw any and all negatives he provided across the board.
T[redacted] you for your attention to this matter, and feel free to contact us regarding this or anything you wish. ** Also, thank you to The Revdex.com & everyone who works and helps there! **
Sincerely,

Review: V.A.S.SRoofing and Siding provided me with a written quote to remove and replace a portion of my roof on September 13, The work was then sub-contracted and that individual began work on September 25, The removal of the roof's shingles was begun by the sub-contractor prior to all materials arriving on-site[redacted], son of V.A.S.Sowner Henry [redacted], failed to deliver the necessary materials to the subcontractor, and therefore my roughly 25% of my roof was left without shinglesFurthermore, I was not made aware that a sub-contractor would complete the work and at no point in time did **[redacted], who was the self-described foreman, ever arrive at my residenceIn addition, **[redacted] attempted to add an additional charge for the waste removal despite the fact that I had a written estimate stating that the payment amount included disposal of the old roofing materialAs a result of my refusal to pay the waste dumpster upcharge of $325, the discarded roofing material, including nails and staples, were left on my lawn and a portion of my driveway with no plan to remove the material.Desired Settlement: Refund my initial deposit check of $and V.A.S.Smust pay for the removal of the old roofing material that was left from the sub-contractor workIn addition, V.A.S.Sand I must agree on a third party roofing company to complete the scope of work described by **[redacted] in his original proposal and V.A.S.Sis liable for payment on 100% of that work

Response:
In response to
this complaint we first and foremost want to express our sincere and ultimate
priority, which is making every one of our customers completely happy and
satisfied with our quality, craftsmanship, and overall value
On September 12,
we provided two separate quotes to remedy the problems that he was faced
with after the original faulty installation of the most obvious and persistent
problems occurring with the rear main guttering, flashing, roof deck (plywood)
in this area of the home as per his requestBoth of the original prices were
based on the original observation of the situation that he had expressed of
most importance to homeDuring the processes of executing the proposed job it
was obvious and explained to **[redacted] that the unforeseen damage was a bit
more extensive than originally observed, prior to getting the
removal/demolition phase of the job goingAll of the observations and options
were presented to **[redacted], and he decided to remove the entire rear main
roof deck section and he emphasized on having a dumpster delivered to the
jobsite (which he stated very clearly that he would pay for as well as
additional material and labor costs) do to the debits of the project being in
excess of at least five times the original projection/proposalThe same said
area of home was secured and water-tight with tarps for overnight (with no rain
or precipitation in the forecast; nor did occur), being that the new/adjusted
material needed was not able to be delivered/hoisted by the supply house until the
next day, due to the material quantity changes/adjustments that were required at
that point/time
As far as the
trash/debris removal fees that needed to be absorbed, due to the new job scope;
it was mentioned several times to **[redacted] that those additional costs
would be prorated based on the original job scope
**[redacted]
called early the next morning stating “for us to retain and keep all moneys received
at that point, in hopes of those moneys satisfying our expenses and satisfying
our billing, due to the fact that he had made other arrangements for the
completion of the job”The voice recording of **[redacted] stating exactly
this is in our possession and can be furnished upon proper request
The second check
we received from this job did not clear from **[redacted]’s financial institution
and is still remain outstanding, as well as the fees associated with the same
said check

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: I have a contract for the work they did to my roof and V.A.S.S.. was contacted about my roof leaking, when I spoke to someone at company they said they would call me back to set up appointment to come out but never called or came to check damage or leak. I called 2 more times and left message and still get no response. Its been over a week now.Desired Settlement: want the job fixed

Review: Sometime during the month of July, 2014, siding that was installed on the upper portion of the back of our home on 5/21/13, sustained damage from a wind/rain storm. I called Mr Hank B[redacted], owner of VASS Siding on 7/25/13 to report the problem. Mr B[redacted] asked me to send pictures of the damage. I sent them 10 minutes after our conversation and Mr B[redacted] replied to the email a couple of hours later acknowledging receipt of the pictures and saying that he would call before his company came to repair the damage. Having not heard from Mr B[redacted], I left him a voicemail on 7/30/14. When he returned my call, he said they were 'running behind' on their jobs. Since we would be out of town the following week (8/11 -8/15), he said he would do the job the week of 8/19. Not only did he not show, but he did not even give us the courtesy of a call. On 8/19, my husband left a voicemail to find out when they would do the job only to receive no response. I sent Mr B[redacted] an email on 8/21 expressing my displeasure with his unprofessionalism and received a call from him on 8/25 promising that the job would be completed between 8/26 and 8/29. On the afternoon of 8/29, I left a voicemail for Mr B[redacted] telling him if the work was not completed by the end of the day that I 'would take further action'. When Mr B[redacted] called me later that evening, he shared some personal problems that he said led to the delays but 'promised' the work would be completed on 9/3 or 9/4. Today is 9/20 and I have received no call from Mr B[redacted]. While I sympathize with his problems, he has a business to run, a warranty to honor and a crew to perform the work which appears to me to be minimal but should be fixed nonetheless.Desired Settlement: I wuould like VASS Siding to honor their warranty and make the repairs, giving me ONE date and time.

Complaint ID [redacted] against V.A.S.S. Siding was resolved on 9/23/14.

Thank you.

Review: First of all, VASS's website claims that they're Revdex.com accredited, but looking at the Revdex.com's website shows that this is false. Secondly, notice that their website as well as their Facebook site uses nothing but stock photos of completed work. They don't use any pictures of their own. Probably because they don't do any work. I asked Hank to complete an estimate, which he did. The estimate was unusually high compared to others. Since he was calling me multiple times a day to push his services, I let him know that he was outbid, and he came back with a much lower bid. Since Hank was so persistent, I decided to go with him. Huge mistake. The contract he drew up made no mention of start or completion dates. I should have never signed it, but I did and I paid him a down payment as well as a second payment in order to start work. He didn't start for nearly a month. During this time, I would call him for updates and his voicemail was always full. He never actually answered the phone. When he did call back, he usually had some sort of sob story or excuse. The work began once a teenager came over and removed about ten feet worth of siding. Then his workers disappeared for another week or two. They came back at 7:30AM on a Saturday morning and removed most of my siding. Again, this is now about two months after I wrote him a check to begin work. It's been a week since anyone has come by to do anything. It's raining and snowing and most of my house doesn't have any siding on it. Most of it is in a pile on my front lawn, which is where it's been for about a week. Once again, Hank's voicemail is full (likely with complaining clients) and nobody ever actually picks up the line at his "office".

Unfortunately, I only ran a cursory search on VASS when I agreed to sign the contract. At the time, all of the results were positive. It's only now that I'm realizing these were likely sock puppets set up to bolster their credibility. If you dig a little deeper, you'll see that there are plenty of complaints out there in regards to Hank and VASS Siding. They've scammed before and they'll continue scamming. Now I'm stuck after paying most of the agreed upon charges and no siding on my house.Desired Settlement: I just want siding on my house. Crazy, right? I also wouldn't mind Hank refunding me the remainder of the money so that I can hire a competent contractor to finish what he's started. There is zero chance I'm going to let him get away with this.

V.A.S.S. Roofing and Siding provided me with a written quote to remove and replace a portion of my roof on September 13, 2013. The work was then sub-contracted and that individual began work on September 25, 2013. The removal of the roof's shingles was begun by the sub-contractor prior to all materials arriving on-site. [redacted], son of V.A.S.S. owner Henry [redacted], failed to deliver the necessary materials to the subcontractor, and therefore my roughly 25% of my roof was left without shingles. Furthermore, I was not made aware that a sub-contractor would complete the work and at no point in time did **. [redacted], who was the self-described foreman, ever arrive at my residence. In addition, **. [redacted] attempted to add an additional charge for the waste removal despite the fact that I had a written estimate stating that the payment amount included disposal of the old roofing material. As a result of my refusal to pay the waste dumpster upcharge of $325, the discarded roofing material, including nails and staples, were left on my lawn and a portion of my driveway with no plan to remove the material.
