Review: I contracted United Modification to perform a modification and property name transfer on 2 properties in November 2012 for $3,500. I was told by agent [redacted], that the modification would take up to 90 days. [redacted], also guaranteed that the property would be modified, if not my money would be refunded. When starting this process both properties were in good standing, neither missing or late on any loan payments. [redacted] mentioned that I would have to stop paying the mortgage, to prove that financial stress was present to the loan servicing agency. I agreed. 10 months passed by (he told me it would not take more than 3). During this time I was told countless lies of paperwork being submitted when not and blatant neglect to follow up with the loan servicing companies to get the modification done. On many occasions I and my mother had to call the loan servicing company directly to make sure the process was moving to find out that what he said he was doing did not come to pass. Throughout the process I incurred many fees from gathering documents requests, credit reports, foreclosure fees, not to mention the damage to the credit from failure to pay. One property was able to be modified while the other was lost in a foreclosure due to the failure come up with the $12k needed to keep the account whole (this included the loan servicing company's legal fees incurred through the foreclosure). The modified property has not been transferred to the proper name (one of the tasks United Modification was contracted for). I asked [redacted] for a refund on the property on August **, 2013 the date of the foreclosure. He assured me I would have it by the end of the month. Since then I have received at least 4 rescheduling dates to receive the funds each accompanied with a new excuse. I notified him I would take him and his firm to court should they not pay to which I was given more run around and a series of text messages as to who is to be blamed. After loosing a property I put over 25k down as well as 5 years of loan payments and lost rental income I would just like a refund in a timely fashion.Desired Settlement: I would a like a refund for $2,625. $1,750 for the property that was foreclosed (because no modification or loan transfer successfully completed) + $875 (because the mortgage was not properly transferred as originally contracted). Thank you.
