Review: On Saturday, March 30, 2013 I valeted my car with your Valet Service Attendant at the [redacted]. I arrived at approximately 7:15pm. When I pulled up to the valet station I asked the attendant [redacted]) if parking was the usual price. He made a joke, we laughed and I gave him the $20.00 for valet service and received a ticket for my car. After the concert my friend and passenger wanted to take the box of food to the car. My friend went to the valet station to inquiry about the location of the car. He was told by [redacted] that to put the food in the car would be $20.00. My friend called to me and said “he wants $20.00 to put the food in the car”. I called back to my friend to come back. At approximately 12:30am March 31, 2013 I went to the valet station to retrieve my car. I was told by [redacted] that I had to pay him another $20.00. I responded that I was not paying an additional $20.00 and inquired as to why that would be necessary. [redacted] then went on to say that the valet charge was $20.00 per event. I responded and informed him that he had not given me that information before I relinquished my car at 7:15pm. A disagreement ensued at which time my friend intervened and asked to see the policy. [redacted] refused to show us a policy and I asked my friend call the police for resolution as my car was now being held hostage. I was then told by [redacted] and an employee of the [redacted] that the police would make me pay the additional $20.00. I informed them that if instructed by the police to pay the $20.00 I would do so only at that time. The police arrived, one officer spoke with me and one spoke with an employee from your company (my back was turned and I do not know who actually spoke with the police). The officer that spoke with your employee returned and informed me that I would be receiving my car and that I would not be paying the additional $20.00 and that he explained that there was no posting of the additional charge policy. My car was brought to me and my passenger and I departed.Desired Settlement: Training should be conducted to help employees retain appropriate customer service, inappropriate behavior and intimidation, conflict resolution and gender sensitivity. The policy should be available upon request. Proper Signage of services offered and applicable cost.
