Car hs not worked. Took it there to repair and the car still does not work.
/On *** my car would not start properly. I have engine codes that said multiple engine misfire and catalytic converter. I went to them to fix both of those probmels. I did not get my car back until Friday *** with a new catalytic converter. The total cost was $***. The next day , Saturday ***, the car would not start again. I had to tow the vehile again to this location to get it looked at. They diagnosed the problem as the canister purge and the fuel pressure regulator. The car was not returned to me until Thursday ***. Total cost of this repair was $***. This also was for 2 tows on the car since they forgot to charge me for the first tow. The following day, Friday ***, I went to turn on the car and it was having the same issues. Sputtering upon starting, and then dying shotly after. I called Tuffys again and explained that they did not fix the problem the first time, they have had my car for a week, then need to fix my problem and I should be comped for the repairs that did not solve the problem. They informed me that everything was a problem and there is no way they can comp me for anything and informed me a new fuel pump is going to run me at around $***. I should have to pay for parts and labor they do on my car if it doesnt fix the problem. If the problem was not the canister purge, why am I pay for that? If the problem was not the fuel pressure regultor, why am I paying for that? If the problem is the fuel pump, why do I still have to pay for the prts that were never bad? I have paid well over $*** to get this car to run and the work that I am paying for is not fixing my problems.

Desired Outcome

I want to be comped for the unnecessary repairs they have put into my car, I want to be comped for the second tow, and I want my car to have the fix that it needs. Anything that is in excess i want store credit for future repair needs.

The District Manager has been in touch with the customer. They are working on a resolution.

Was told one price, but once my car was towed there it was a different price.I haven't heard anything back from the owner and he still has my car.
On or around *** I called and spoke with a *** at or around 9:00 AM. Informed him that my vehicle (***) had a clogged catalytic converter and my model has 3. Informed that my ERG valve had a hole in it and that my car was smoking and would not accelerate past 20 mph. Informed that I had spoken with *** and that they were going to charge me $*** and that I didn't want to pay that much being I only purchased the car for $***. *** informed that he can send his tow guy out and check it out for $. Stated that he could do the back one for about $***-$***. I agreed and around 1:00pm or so they sent *** out to get my vehicle. I didn't hear anything back that day but the following day another guy called me and said that it is my catalytic converter and they prefer that I get all 3 done and that they put a new erg valve on and an oil cap. To do the work they would charge $***. Informed them that this was not what I was quoted and I would pay the $*** and they could bring me back the car. The person on the phone became irate and stated that they could take off the parts they put on and it would be $*** to get the car back. Tried to plead with the guy on the phone but he became more irate and stated you talked to *** I will have him call you and disconnected the line. I haven't heard anything back since as of date ***. I am willing to pay the $*** I was quoted for him to tow and look at my car, but I don't believe I should owe anything more than what I was quoted. I already told him what the problem was so I didn't need a diagnostic and never asked for any repairs or additions to be done to the vehicle. I would just like to get my vehicle back and to pay what I was told I would be charged.

The manager originally spoke with the customer regarding her vehicle. He advised her it would be $*** to have it towed to the store. He also explained that there would be a diagnostic charge of $***, approximately an hour of diagnosis. She agreed to pay for an oil cap as it had a rag in place of the cap. They also notified her that an EGR valve was needed to get the vehicle running and to further test it. She also agreed to this. After notifying her of the issues with her vehicle, she was given an estimate for the needed repairs. She declined the repairs. They advised her that they had several hours of diagnostic time invested in the vehicle and the invoice total, including the tow was $***. Not included in the amount was the tire repair they had to complete before the vehicle could be removed from the tow truck.

At this time, we feel the charges she agreed to were fair and reasonable. We decline her request to discount the amount to the tow bill alone. The customer will need to pick up the vehicle before it is impounded as an abandoned vehicle.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The manager never explained any of that to me he just advised me to have it towed and he would take a look at it for the $*** price to see which converter was bad. I would have never agreed to a $*** diagnostic fee because as I stated to the manager I already had it looked at and knew what the problem was. He gave me an estimate that he could probably fix the back converter for *-***. I never asked them to put anything on my vehicle, the vehicle started before leaving my home. The ERG valve didn't need to be put on it for it to go. The converter is under the vehicle so why was anything even being put on the vehicle to take a look to see if the converter is bad.I feel I am wrongfully being charged. Now being threatened to have my vehicle impounded. This is not right to do this to people and get away with it.

Recently I took my vehicle to Tuffy's for an oil change. I was in formed by them that I needed several repairs that would cost nearly $***. I then took the vehicle to another shop and only one of the items Tuffy's said was urgent actually needed attention which saved me nearly $***. I don't plan on returning to Tuffy's again.

Improper repairs
I took my mother-in-laws *** in to have the vehicle repaired due to a broken brake line on the drivers rear of the vehicle. At the time it was in I spoke with the technician about avoiding dropping the fuel tank due to other potential issues arising. Unfortunately they decided that the repair could't be done without dropping the tank so they proceeded with the repair. Supposedly when he dropped the tan he was unable to disconnect the fuel line and he dropped it anyway and broke the line. I was forced to pay for half of the cost of the part which is not completely unreasonable but still unfair. Fuel line was not broken when I dropped it off why did I have to pay for it to be repaired at all. After everything was said and done I still got a decent deal on the repairs but unfortunately the vehicle wasn't repaired properly. Brakes were likely bled improperly because now I have a dead spot in the pedal that wasn't there before, the a/c no longer works and it blew flawlessly before it was dropped off and the thing smells horribly of fuel. Come to find out I am leaking fuel from the top of the tank. I decided to give the company a chance to repair what they broke and they are trying to tell me that I need to pay for the fuel pump that they broke. At what point and time does the company become liable for the damages that they cause!

Desired Outcome

I feel that it was unfair to begin with that I had to pay for the fuel line but I want the vehicle fixed properly. The fuel leaking out of the vehicle is unsafe and can cause damages to other things if it ignites. Vapors were bad enough. I expect the company to live up to their moto "Done Right, Period." I also feel it should be done at no charge as I said before. Vehicle didn't have a fuel leak before it was dropped off why am I responsible for damages that they performed to the vehicle.

Good afternoon ***,

I left you a message but also wanted to apologize for not responding sooner to this issue.
This customer is a former employee of the location. The entire brake lines were rotten, they could not replace the brake lines with out completely replacing all brake lines. The customer was advised of this before repairs were started. Customer was provided a price that included employee discount as directed by the District Manager. Customer was advised that due to the amount of rot in the brake lines and fuel lines that there could be other issues while completing repairs. The customer wanted the store to install brake lines in an unsafe manner. Again they told the customer they could not complete the replacement of the brake lines the way he wanted. They had to replace the brake lines and replace them in the spot that is the original location. They had to drop the fuel tank to complete the repairs. Again the customer was advised prior to repairs being completed. The fuel lines were rotted to the point that when fuel tank was dropped, the fuel lines split between the tank and the intake. Per the District Manager, they replaced the fuel lines with the customer receiving the benefit of a reduction in the pricing both parts and labor. The fuel pump was leaking prior to the repairs being started and the customer was advised of this.
The vehicle is heavily rusted and the fuel pump/sending unit mounted in the tank has leaking/rusted/split fuel lines. Again the customer was advised that this could be an issue while attempting to replace the brake lines. The customer brought vehicle with the complaint of a fuel smell. They inspected the fuel lines they replaced. All are good. They found the fuel pump/sending unit lines split. They advised the customer at which point he became upset, blamed the store and said if they did not replace the fuel pump/sending unit at their expense, he would contact the Revdex.com.
As far as the AC is concerned, the store was unaware of an issue until receiving the Revdex.com information (the manager had left early that day). After that the manager made inquiries of his employees regarding the AC. He was informed that the customer recharged the AC on his own prior to leaving and did not pay for the service or materials. He was not given permission by store management to do so.
Thank you,
