Honda dealer wanted $to install a remanufactured trans on my Accord V
My car was dragging and wouldn't go faster than mphIt jolted into next gear when acceleratingThis all started on last TuesdayWe had it towed to dealer same day
It only had 63k miles Dealer diagnosed transmission replacement by ThursdayWhile at the dealer, I called American Honda to see if they would cover any part of the cost of the repairThey said that since the car was purchased use in 2008; and also because it was Not part of the Rrecall they wouldn't provide any help to defray all or part of the cost
We then had Tramcar Transmission Specialists pick up the car with their tow truck service ( maybe just miles from the dealer)By Friday, Tramcar gave us a $estimate with a one year/mile guarantee on a complete rebuild of the existing transmission
We agreed and the work was done by Tuesday morning Torque converter and a bearing was replacedAll soft parts were replaced
Cooler was flushed and filters and trans fluids replaced
Car now seems to run like newTramcar did ask that we come back in two weeks, so that they can check that all the bolts are holding as they should and that no new diag codes have been created
So far am very satisfied with Tramcar They also did some Cadillac work for me a few years ago and was very satisfied with that too(Deville needed a new speed sensor that required dismantling the trans)
