In response to [redacted]:
When he became a customer in 2014 there were many unresolved...

issues concerning his home policy because upon inspection there were major corrections that needed to be made within a specific amount of time. When he did not comply with the work that needed to be done to ensure continuous coverage on his home, the policy was terminated. When he found out that the home policy was terminated he terminated his auto policy stating that he started coverage with another company.
At a much later time, he called in concerning a payment. He claimed to have absolutely no knowledge of his policy being terminated. We spent extensive time between Allstate's underwriting department and customer service on his behalf to see if there was any way that we could get his policy reinstated. There are many emails between our agency and the former customer as well as extensive notes reflecting each time we have spoken with him as well as the outcome.
We are happy to provide you with all written communication between the customer, our agency and the notes that are then logged into the system documenting the conversations and course of action. Allstate does not charge a fee to be on automatic payments. However there is a discount called the EZ Pay discount. That discount is applied to the policy for the duration of time that the customer chooses to remain on automatic withdrawal for their monthly payment. In the event that the customer informs us that they no longer wish to have their monthly payment automatically deducted from their checking account, they no longer qualify for that discount and the amount they were saving is added back onto their policy.
This former customer has received a full statement of account breaking down the policy activity history line by line showing each update to his policy. He also received a detailed itemization of all of the billing which was done manually by Allstate's accounting department. They determined that there is an amount of $66.57 remaining due since he had continuous coverage prior to when he terminated his policy. When the report came back from Allstate's corporate accounting department we sent him a copy. He continued disputing the amounts directly from accounting. He became belligerent and continued demanding a refund even though the report clearly reflects that he owes Allstate $66.57 for the 15 days of coverage he had from July 8, 2015 to July 23, 2015. The last payment he made was on June 15, 2015 for $161.15 was the final payment for the previous policy period.
If there are any additional questions or concerns please contact [redacted] at 612.255.5183 or by email to [redacted]@allstate.com.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2015/10/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I was told by his employee that my account was paid thru the end of the July month! if it would have not been I would have made a payment to make it right. it was only afterwards that I received a bill stating that I owed more. that was the reason for my call when I canceled the electronic payment. This is not and acceptable solution!! I was told that I was prepaying for insurance not paying for previous month of insurance, this is why I had to make a payment to start coverage.
as for my insurance being terminated it was done by his employee, was not on my authorization. I had no idea that my auto was terminated, when we talked about the homeowners insurance, that is when an employee decided to cancel my auto policy, which I still wanted, and at that time I did not receive any notification that the auto was canceled.
it seems to me that this agency has some issues with what their employees say and what is actually happening. so I don't think they are being exactly honest with me or you.
its amazing how this is all my fault and the employees have no remembrance of talking to me about some of this.
I made calls to make sure I was paid in full thru the time I was going to have insurance and was told that I was by his employee. I just told them that I didn't think it was right that there was a charge after canceling after being told I was paying a month in advance for my insurance by his employee!!!!!
