I've never written a negative review in my life, but I really don't want anyone to have to go through what I went through with my car. I just moved to [redacted], TX and was looking for a reliable used car. I contacted Steve and he was very responsive. He indicated the car had been inspected a week prior. I test drove it, and everything felt great. I immediately went to get gas on my way home and encountered a problem. The fuel would not pump steadily into my car. I assumed it was a pump issue and continued driving. Within 20 minutes of my drive home, the check engine light came on. I informed Steve, who instructed I take it to Pep boys to check the codes - which I did. I asked Steve to provide me with the receipt/inspection papers, because he said it was inspected and also charged me for that inspection. He suddenly became much less responsive until I nagged him enough that he said he couldn't find the papers, and it didn't matter much anyway because it would not tell me what was wrong with the car. I wasn't asking for the papers to tell me what was wrong, but to prove that the inspection was completed and the vehicle was safe to drive. After attempting to get gas again and encountering the same problem and then the car completely stalling out on the road, I took it to a recommended mechanic. Steve agreed to pay half of the repairs after going back and forth. However, less than 24 hours later the check engine light came back on. I took it in, and the mechanic noticed the right back tire was ripping from the inside out and diagnosed the car with an emissions problem. Both of these things would not be possible to have and still have the car pass an inspection one week prior. Admittedly, I should have looked at the report before buying it, but after doing so, it was clear the last inspection was on 5/2014 (car bought 8/2015). Steve lied. The result is that car will cost much more than it's worth. Now I have to pay a towing fee to have it removed from the mechanic on top of now needing to buy another car and paying for initial repairs. I'm out thousands of dollars, and completely disappointed. This was a horrible learning experience for me, and I would not recommend purchasing a car from Superior Auto Brokers.
