staples2. we removed the kitchen floor 1'x1' tiles, plywood and joistreplaced all joist and 3/4 inch plywood for sub floor. 3.Cut paneling and horse hair spackling for a door from one side of house to other side of house and framed outsides and header. also for the door area had to remove and replace an outlet where she wanted the door. 4. dug 1' down and 22 across trench in back of house to get below the studs for the kitchen and installed aluminum.to try to prevent water from coming in. 5. do to all the water damage to her place with the old roof had to replace sill for door and rehang. 6. hauled away all job related debris and an old piece of particle board that was wet and damaged that she claims we used on her floorbut we used plywood there is a big difference between the two.7. When the rain stopped we started the roof we ripped off 2 shingles and found cider shakes. talked to the home owner about how much extra work was involved and how much it was going to cost before we went any farther. She wanted to call some other people and contractors to make a decision before we started the roof. I said that was fine. In the mean time the shingle had arrived. I had to tell the company to take them back. before she made her decision we also contacted a manager from the 504 family housing repair and grant program where she was receiving the max grant of $7,500.00 for the work on her house. the manager understood why we could not see the cider shakes before we started the roof. The manager understood and agreed to the extra work and cost, and told us we had to alter the contract because of the extra work on the roof. because she did not want to pay any money out of her own pocket.3 hours later she decided and told us we could start the roof. We went over all the Cost for everything inside work and outside work for the 3rd time. She agreed with the price.Called the Company to bring the shingles again. They charge me twice for the delivery. We removed all the shingles, cider shakes and found that there was 4 roof joist that were rotten and had to replace. installed all the plywood, joist, ice and water shield, synthetic paper, drip edge, and shingles on a 9/12 pitch roof We cleaned and hauled away all the job related debris with a truck, because there was no where to put a dumpster. It was a total of 8 truck loads.we are now finished and completed with the roof and the other work. The total price of the job came to $8,000.00. That is the price we came to before the roof was started. She knew what the price was and complained that she had to pay $500.00 of her own money. When I was trying to get paid for the job. I told her not to worry about it I will take the 500.00 off your bill and just take the grant money of $7,500.00 I went out of my way to help her and to talk to her about everything that went on and about the job for the time we were there. I probably spent 8 hrs. with her So she knew what we were doing and explain how it is done. A week or 2 later she calls me and said a heat pipe is broken. I did not ask any questions. I went over right away to fix it with out any charge. One of my workers said there was a small drip from the pipe before we started the work. That is the spot where he fell throw the floor due to water damage.I called her in the beginning of august. told her I will be out next week. Because every year the business closes for 10 days for vacation the first week of august. I told her I had to cancel our family vacation. Because we just found out my wife has cancer and she was in the hospital for 16 days. I just got her home on July 30th and she not feeling well from the kemo. I already missed a lot of work and I'm trying to make arrangement for somebody to watch our 6 mouth and 4 year old kids So I could get some work done. After I told her that." She replies" you have to come over right away and I paid way to much money for my roof and I will go to the Revdex.com.Then I hung the phone up.I have been in business for 18 years and never had a problem with a customer. Not even a compliant. We have always done excellent and honest work.
