False advertising on web site.Website clearly states free estimates but I was quoted $125 just to look at chimney another company just looked at without charging me. I was referred to SafeSide saying they would be a good company to work with. Once I called I was blamed for his business being in the busy season and he charges for his services. The free estimate is only free in Spring & Summer. Does not say that on the web site thus creating a bait & switch scenario. Once I stated the town I lived in he I could gathered the priced went up as well. That would be price gouging. I as a customer don't care if you are busy or not. When you do not want my business say so up front and I may return. Give me the lines and I never return or give a referral.Desired SettlementBe truthful in advertising and change your website to reflect actual services. When a service is free, it's free, not when you think you can get $125 because is a busy time of year or someone lives in a more affluent town.Business Response The customer was referral from another chimney company that went out to do a cleaning. There was something wrong with the chimney and the work was not performed. We received a phone call from this man for a estimate. I explained to him that what he was looking for a chimney inspection due to the depth of the work. We charge for our services. The customer then made a rude comment and hung up the phone. We also ask what town everyone is from. the prices change due to distance from us, nothing to do with what town you live in. There is nothing to do here with bait and switch. A phone call was made I explained what would need to be done the man was not happy and hung up.
