S & H Improvements

on 2/28/2014 I signed a contract with a [redacted], Or [redacted], [redacted]. He goes by either name. He signed with [redacted]. [redacted]. I was to pay 5,000 for a metal roof for home and pump house, and gutters over front and back. I was to pay $3,000 up front and upon receipt of final deliverable the remainder $2,000. On that day I paid him 1,300.00 in cash and and $1,700 in check. The stuff was delivered by [redacted]. [redacted] said that they didn't deliver enough shingles. The shingles I choose cost $250.00 a box. He said he needed $475.00 more to order. That he didn't have enough funds to pay it out of his pocket. He came back on 3-3 I gave him a check for $475.00, again he said he needed more money, on 3-21 I gave him 2,500.00, on 3-31 I gave him $800.00. Then he said he needed more. I gave him another check for $1,200. on 4-27. After he left to cash that check, I started to research on how much money I handed out. I was shocked. [redacted] is a man I work with at [redacted]. I considered him a friend. I didn't think I would have to worry about him ripping me off. Every time he came, I was waking me up from a dead sleep. I was working night shift at the time. I called [redacted] and they said that the supply's he bought for my roof came to $2,348.80.00 I have all receipts and all checks. I also have photos of how he left my yard, Medal scraps and nails and cigarette butts all over the yard. I had my sons girl friend and his buddy end up with flat tires because of all the nails. I ended up having to clean everything up myself. [redacted] also stated that he had returned some items that was bought with that $2,348.80 bill. I called [redacted] on 7/25 to tell him. He said he had paperwork to prove me wrong. He said he would bring it by on the weekend. I told him if he didn't that it would leave me with no choice but to go to small claims. His response was "fine, cause I know I have the paperwork to prove it". I also found that the price for shingles were $95. a box, not $250. I also feel this is more then fair, because he was also conning me out of my money, lying about it and deceiving me, and for a broken contract on his part.
