his home in March, 2015 for non-working heat cables, I told Mr. [redacted] that due to the amount of ice build-up I was not able to do anything at the time with the cable. My feeling after looking at the amount of ice on the roof edge and speaking with the homeowner is that the problem was due to something the homeowner either did or did not do. The purpose of the heat cable is to help prevent ice forming by leaving them turned on, not turning them on after there is ice build-up. He was also up in that area on his house removing snow and ice and may have accidentally hit the heat cable causing damage to it. No matter what the cause was, I had and still have every intention of replacing the heat cables even though there is no warranty on heat cables. My wife, [redacted], who runs the business end of the company, had left a message that I would get out to his house when I could. It is true that three messages were left, but at the time, my wife was dealing with a very ill father. Not that that is any excuse but she was not in the office very often to take care of calls. It is not true that as per Mr. [redacted]'s complaint "It is now August and I have left more messages on their phone with no return call". My wife had spoke directly with Mrs. [redacted] at one point and had informed her that the cable would be installed prior to any bad weather this year. Since my wife spoke with Mrs. [redacted] and assured her it would be done, I guess I thought it could wait until later this fall since they knew I would be replacing it at some point this year. I am more than willing to still replace the heat cable as I had planned or I can reimburse their $250.00 payment, I will leave it up to them. If they want the cable replaced, it will be done as soon as I am informed that is the final decision on this matter. No matter what decision is made, I would like to sincerely apologize to Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] ~ the delay and any inconvenience or stress I have caused them.Ron Ferris ~Ron Ferris & Son Home Improvement
