Review: We purchased a flipped house from Renu Properties, LLC. A few days prior to the closing, our realtor noticed bowing of the bamboo floor. We agreed to a minor repair paid for by Renu Properties, and closed on the house after signing a form that Renu Properties would remain liable for repairs necessitated by their negligence. Over the next few months, the floor damage continued to worsen despite multiple attempts to repair it. After the third repair, we had additional testing done. That testing showed that the original floor installation was done improperly negligently because the floor did not have a proper moisture barrier. This was causing excess moisture under the floor, leading to damage to the floor and the beginning of mold and mildew growth. The estimated cost to replace the floor with a proper moisture barrier is $11,924.We contacted Renu Properties (including Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted]) numerous times. They initially verbally indicated that they would pay a contractor of our choosing to replace the floor. However, several days later, they emailed us and stated that the defective floor was not our responsibility, and that they would not pay or do anything to repair the floor. Our subsequent emails to Mr. Au and Mr. [redacted], expressing our disappointment and our hope that we could resolve this issue in a constructive, friendly way, were ignored for weeks or not answered at all. They cancelled meetings at the last minute, and in general have been rude to us. Nine months after buying the house, the floor issue is still not resolved and Renu Properties has now cut off all communication with us. We very much appreciate any help you can provide in (1) compelling Renu Properties to replace the floor, and/or (2) ensuring that other homebuyers do not suffer from the negligence and deception of Renu Properties, [redacted], or other business entities in which [redacted] or [redacted] are involved.Desired Settlement: We would like Renu Properties to pay to have a contractor of our choosing replace the floor.
