Relief on the Runway

Review: My business decided to participate in a charity fashion show in December 2013. We decided to pull out of the show in February 2014 after hearing allegations from several sources that the executive director did not pay the charity it collaborated with and did not pay many who participated in the same event the year prior. We requested a full refund from the executive director in February 2014 and were denied. The application we signed did not state that in the event we canceled we would not be refunded. Many other businesses were not refunded who also pulled out. Below is the last email sent: "I wanted to follow-up with you regarding the refund that was supposed to be issued by July 16, 2014 to vendors and designers who requested the refund on or before Tuesday June 24, 2014. As you already know In February 2014, my brand pulled out of the event and we made several requests, the majority via email, to receive our refund, with our initial request being on February 19, 2014. As of today, July 17, 2014 we have not received our refund. As you know from the several requests we have previously made, we are entitled to receive a refund of $1,000 since as mentioned we put in our notification of cancellation back in February 2014 before receiving any of the services listed below, which the contract clearly stated was the purpose of the money:1. marketing for an entire year2. runway show in 20143. a commercial shoot happening in mid December 20144. a photo shoot in JanuaryWe request that our funds to be returned immediately by no later than Monday July 21st, via Paypal."Desired Settlement: Refund in the amount of $1,000.
