Response: *** *** Auto Diesel was contracted by a third party (a local used car dealer) to replace the timing chain on a Nissan Quest, with the customer being responsible for one half of the repair costsA standard timing chain set including Cam sprockets, Chains, Crank sprocket, Guides, Tensioner Arm, Tensioners, was installed on the vehicle it was test driven and the repair verifiedThe vehicle performed well and had no further diagnostic codesThe customer and the car lot were then contacted and advised that the contracted repair was completeSometime after the vehicle was picked up, I received a call that the vehicle was again disabledThe vehicle was towed to my shop and inspectedI found that the Variable Valve Timing Camshaft Actuator VVT Cam Phaser Sprocket Gear had brokenAs the Variable Valve Timing Camshaft Actuator VVT Cam Phaser Sprocket Gear was not included in the contracted repair it was not part of the warrantyWhile I am sorry for this vehicle owners misfortune I cannot guarantee that other parts not included in a repair will not failSent on: 6/4/11:11:AM
