Quaking Aspen Ranch

I planned on having a wedding at Quaking Aspen Ranch in June of this year. Upon traveling from Tennessee to view the ranch which was a scheduled meeting I was shocked when I realized no one had plans on meeting me out there. I had paid the coordinator [redacted] had talked so well about and works with and she had ditched on the meeting as well. I went to the Ranch anyways as the caterer I was meeting said she would let us in. I walk in to find the whole cabin flooded, carpet removed, furniture removed, broken furniture, and water still in the basement. I see now why no one bothered to show up to the meeting. When I talked to [redacted] I had expressed that I would like a refund due to the fact that it was a poorly run business and no one had even bothered to inform us of the flooding. He absoultely refused to refund us money and told us it would be done by late April. We also had wanted to get our money back which was a decent amount for the coordinator who didnt bother showing up for the meeting, and he said he had no business with her. Yet, we paid for the coordinator through him, and she said she never saw the money? On further dicussion he had agreed to refund us for the coordinator and lodging expenses which was to be 2500 for the coordinator and 1700 for the lodging which was to be paid in mid April. April came along and we waited a week later than the date agreed on, and no contact from [redacted] so we called and emailed and he finally got around to emailing me back saying the money had to be pushed to late May considering his funds were tied up in fixing the ranch. But we were under the impression that it would be done by late April? We finally got the check but not to my surprise it was 500 short of what we had agreed on. We decided to just stop dealing with it because of how ridiculous the situation and dealing with the operator was. I would never ever ever recommend anyone going here for a vacation, wedding, etc. It is awfully run, there is definitely some crooked dealing here (with the coordinator never receiving her money and him claiming they are not associated) and I have read 4 other reviews now of people not being able to get the refunds they were entitled to, and not being able to get a hold of Mr. [redacted].

This is a beautiful location but don't be fooled by [redacted]. At a recent stay for a wedding, we didn't have hot water, the sheets were dirty and after finding bites all over my legs I later discovered that there were bed bugs! Definitely not worth paying over $800/night. [redacted] was very difficult to work with and didn't follow through with things the bride and groom had already paid him for. He didn't set up and decorate the tables so the wedding party had to do it. He was supposed to provide a keg of bud light but instead had an awful tasting microbrew and wasn't willing to accommodate for his error.
