QWS a licensed radon mitigation co. incorrectly installed a radon water mitigation system in my home. $5800 system overheated and melted components.Quabbin Well Supply a licensed radon mitigation company incorrectly installed a $5,800 water radon mitigation system in my home. The service tech did not install a vital component, an air bladder tank that keeps the system pressurized. As a result the system could not maintain pressure without the pump running continuously, overheating the system, melting three plastic floats and burning me with scalding hot water. The floats control switches that managed the water supply. Once the floats melted the water supply was not turned off, overflowed, and flooded my basement. I contacted Quabbin Well Supply four times and finally they sent out a tech. The tech claimed the air tank bladder was not a necessary component. The tech said they would order the parts to repair the system. I made five other attempts over two weeks to contact the installer and they will not return my calls. I did further research and the installation instructions from the system's manufacturer state the air bladder needs to be installed. I called the manufacturer Spruce Technologies, Inc. and they confirmed that the air bladder tank is necessary and that the installer did not properly install the system. I consulted with an attorney and will pursue with legal action filing a claim.Desired SettlementThe company should come out and service the system, replacing necessary parts and test the repair/properly installed system ensuring my basement will not flood again from an incorrect installation.
