Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/09/16) */
On Sunday July 12, I received a call from ***'s in Litchfield Illinois stating that their woman's restroom door lock was not functioning correctlyI drove miles to assist them in this matterI had to first get the door opened,( the
lock would not unlock) after getting the door open I determined that the lock was broke and I replaced it with a grade lever according to ADA regulation, and they had a grade lever that I replacedON that day I charged him for the trip down, on Sunday, for opening the restroom, the lever set, and the installationOn Monday July 13, the owner called and said that my bill was outrageous, but he would pay itIn to weeks the owner call and said that the lever set that I put on was malfunctioning and that he had called someone else and they replaced ours with another lock and asked if we have a money back guaranteeI told him we do, but I asked him why he did not call me to come back down and make it right? He said he did not want to be charged another $I told him I would not have charged himHe sent the lever set back and upon inspection the lever set worked WITHOUT FAIL TIMES in a rowI wanted to give the owner of ***'s the benefit of the doubt and we replaced his lever set with a new oneIf I had not had a new lever set I would had given him a refundWhoever replaced our lever set should be, along with his business, turned in to the United States Department of Justice for violating the American Disabilities Act of Because what is on the women restroom, today Sept16, 2015, is in violation of Federal LAWIn short, I feel that this was his way of trying to reduce his cost by returning a perfectly operating lever set for a refundI have replaced it, and this is how I chose how to resolve this issueI answered his emergence call on Sunday, July 12, If he did not want to pay time and 1/he should have waited until Monday for my regular hours, but I will not answer his call again, because this is not how I do business
