Taken For A Ride,
Customers Beware!! Pronto Motors in Boca Raton are a bunch of scammers Here's my issue with them I received a phone call from an employee from Pronto Motors advising me that the warranty on my Stihl BG-leaf blower, which I purchased from them, is going to expire soon I was told they can give it a courtesy check to see if there are any issues with it before the warranty expires I thought to myself, Wow, that's nice of them Most retailers don't care if the warranty is about to expire on a product they sold you In fact I believe they would rather it did expire so they can charge you to fix it I told the employee, okay, I'll bring it right over I dropped it off and the employee advised they will look at it and call me if they find any issues Full disclosure, prior to walking away I informed him that I had brought this leaf blower in about 2-weeks ago because it kept stalling out on me after about minutes of run time Back then they looked it over and said they found no issues it No charge Now, 2-weeks later, I get the call about the warranty and I decided, what the heck, let them give it another once over
The very next day I get a call from the same employee advising me that the mechanic found an issue with the blower I was told the carburetor was scorn on the intake side, and the unit had straight fuel in the tank I was like, nope, don't think so Never in my life have I ever claimed to be the sharpest pencil in the drawer, but I do own a swimming pool which I maintain myself, and keeping the PH balanced on a weekly basis is not as simple as adding salt & chlorine I do know that I am very well capable of following the instructions on the Stihl HP Ultra fuel/oil mix Mix (1) oz bottle of Stihl HP Ultra with 1-gallon of octane fuel Not that difficult The employee continues to imply that the blower has been, or was being run with straight fuel Again, Nope The employee tells me that this sort of damage is not covered by the warranty, putting the "at fault" with me He tells me he is going to see if the mechanic had kept some of the fuel from the blower so he can show me when I come He then says let me speak with my boss to see if there is anything he can work out with the dealer, "I'll call you back." That was November 11th, Today, 11/24/I call them and inquire about its status An employee looks me up and says, "Yes, it's ready for pick up."
I go in and another employee, who wasn't the original employee I was dealing with, helped me out, and also sells me a 8" pruner that I reserved because as an added bonus for bringing in my leaf blower they offered me 15% off on any purchase upon pick up (Looking at my receipt now I see I wasn't given the 15% discount for the pruner.) Anyway, the employee has me follow him to the repair shop to retrieve my leaf blower He exits the shop with my leaf blower I see that it's dismantled with its parts inside a plastic shopping bag tied to the handle I looked at him and asked, "why is it still dismantled?" He looks at me, looks down at the blower, and begins to read me the invoice which states, "NWF: an acronym which he explained stands for Not Worth Fixing" and "Unit had straight fuel in tank and carburetor Scorn on intake side." The employee points at the flat surface area located on the square opening to the carburetor indicating that's where the damage is To me it looks like smudged grease I'm running my finger nail over it now I don't feel anything scorn, or marked So I tell him, "Can you guys just put it back together then." The bomb shell drops He said "Sure, it will cost you $for the mechanic to put it back together." I quickly say, "wait, what? Umm, you guys called me, I didn't call you." You called me about the courtesy check, which the invoice that is dated 11/11/reads "Check over complete, FREE Carburetor adjustment." Without evening blinking, or allowing me to continue pointing out how wrong this is he says, "It's going to be $ Do you want it put back together or not?" Still beside myself, and knowing that I don't work on leaf blowers, I had to give in and say "Well, okay Fine, put it back together."
***Part Two to follow Not enough space***
I placed an order totaling $on July 27, On August 24th I called to check the status as I had not yet received the partI was advised they had contacted the manufacturer and it was being shippedOn September 3, I again called because I had not received the orderI was again advised they called the manufacturer and it was being shipped as it had just came inI advised Leah I would prefer to cancel the order and she stated she did so but wanted me to hold because the manufacturer was on the other line and she needed to hang up with themI wanted a confirmation number for my canceled order and have been waiting over a month and she wants to put me on hold so the manufacturer doesn't have to wait on the phone? I would not order through this company and I order approximately $a year in parts for my companyI also found the links to check order status were unavailable and when I initially called the first times before getting through to Leah, I was asked to leave a messageMy emails were not answered prior to me calling about the order as wellVery bad experience with this companyPay a little more for piece of mind and quicker delivery
Buyer Beware!!! I placed an order here on 5/20/15 and only began to receive my order a month later after submitting a paypal claim for non shipment of goods. After receiving my partial order I was then emailed with a request for additional shipping charges before I could receive the remainder of my order. They advertise free shipping on all orders over $50. My order totaled $120. I'd seriously consider shopping elsewhere and pay a little extra than to be scammed!!
