I have called the consumer to try and explain the policy Note that we are not the only business telling her this I offered to get on a three way call with herself and Medicare and she refused She refused to set an appointment as required to be compliant with the Diabetic Shoe Progarm and Medicare I also offered her the option of signing an Advanced Beneficiary Notice and paying for the items upfront, we would then bill Medicare and refund them if they paid, but she declined She was very hostile on the phone, said she was done trying and hung up on me

We are following Medicare guidelines when informing the patient that we need to receive a Diabetic Statement from her Primary Care Physician that manages her Diabetes, in addition to the prescription from the Podiatrist. It is also a requirement that the patient be seen by her Primary Care Physician...
with in the last Six Months in order for the Primary Care Physician to comply with and sign the Diabetic Statement. The patients Primary Care Physician is declining to agree with and sign the form as he has not seen the patient with in the six month requirement. The only othe option for her would be to pay privately for the shoes, have her sign an Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) and bill medicare for a denial. This patient is being non compliant and refusing to go to her Primary Care Doctor. Please feel free to call me should you have any questions.
11-24-2014Dear Revdex.com:This is in regards to a letter I received today concerning case complaint ID [redacted] assinged to a [redacted]Information SpecialistThis is concerning diabetic shoes which I did not get. Nothing was mentioned about seeing my primary doctor for an exam. He has mentioned for me to go in. I felt no reason to since Medicare said he has absolutely nothing to do with it on the podiatrist and she never mentioned anything eigther. If I have no reason to see my dr I wont waste my time and go in. But I was told I did not have to. I listened to Medicare since they told me this and everyone goes by what they say is needed. then I find out all of a sudden its changed. I dont undrestand it. Since I was not able to get the shoes and I cannot afford to pay for them. there was nothing I could do about it. Im really upset with them all over this with the rules etc which is not clear to me now only f rom medicare. they pay for it so I go according to what they tell me. Its like a merry go round. They have you coming and going. To get diabetic shoes is very costly and I am not able to get any financely. I even wrote a letter to my dr and explained to him what medicare told me and I didnt have to go in to see him for an exam. He refused to confirm Im a diabetic. I couldnt figure out why. I have a hard time getting around so I cannot just up and go when someone says too. I dont know who to believe anymore. I did get another pair of shoes but there not diabetic ones. Im so tired of haveing to fight for everything. I had diabetic shoes twice before and now Im haveing problems. I just dont understand why with the companies also they give me problems and when I try to explain they wouldnt listen just want to argue. I completely disagree with them. No one not even the goot dr about anything else. their now saying they did. Each one blames the other. I cant take all the stress. Medicare wont pay for them even if I did do what you mentioned about them paying for it. I have other problems with them over something else also. You just cant win. Medicare is surpose to help but they dont. You just get the run around and tell you something different later. Thank you so much for your time etc.I do appreciate it.Sincerely [redacted]
Review: On 12/12/13 I came to hanger to have a prosthetics leg made by them it was a disaster having this being done by them. It was not what I ask for and they had want a head and bill my insurance company without my permission and signature to this day I have no prosthetics leg and they have bill my insurance for $7,790.55 their some fraud going on here with this case they have bill for thing that I did not have done. I can show where they have defraud me and my insurance company all I'm asking for them too do at this point is to return the money and I will not file fraud on them.Desired Settlement: I would like for hanger to return all money to my insurance company right away that what I need for this to go away.
Review: Dear Revdex.com:
I have medicare who pays for diabetic shoes. I applied for them at [redacted] Three days before I got a call and told me there not giving me the shoes. I was to pick them up on the 10th. One day before I got another call asking me if I wanted to cancel. Trying to cover their backs I think.
When getting fitted there trying to get you to accept lelerature with a product better than shoes. I didn't like their attitudes at all. I did not cancel. They said their not giving me the shoes. The requirement from medicare only ask one thing. I get a prescription from my podiatrist & have my dr. confirm I'm a diabetic. But they add other things to do & not required so I refused to do it. I contacted medicare & they said,
NO do not have to see my dr. primary, & going for an examination. He has absolutely nothing to do with it. I never see a podiatrist. I did go to one & got the prescription. But that's what happened. I don't know who to go to about this. What can I do about it. Then I read many complaints about them they give you the wrong size & I know what size I wear. I read a complaint how they did one woman. There rip offs.
The other place my dr. suggested was Pacific Medical on [redacted] They added so many things: A list I had to do. They sent my dr. a letter. Of what I don't know. Tell wonktermets get that letter back for them not my job.
Would my medical records get examined etc.
Not Required. Just the thing they would not give me the shoes either. All you get is a new discouragement so you get tired of it & go elsewhere. They don't want to give the shoes & I did what medicare said I had to do. Not sure but this letter they sent to my dr. probably is asking him to have me go in for an exam. Not required. I refuse. Medicare said I don't have to do that. He's not involved in any of it except confirm I'm a diabetic. I'm so exhausted from all of this.
With all of the run around & excuses not to give them to me. I'd just terrible how they do you & still in business. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I don't think medicare can do anything about the business. I told them & nothing. I have a difficult time getting around. I'm exhausted & fed up with them.
Many complaints about the Hanger Clinic
Pacific has a terrible attitude. No matter who I go to I get the same results. After these results I don't feel I want to go back to them. But someone needs to do something about them.Desired Settlement: I had the choice to pick the shoes I wanted (called balance) each time Hanger said no I can't have those. An excuse for everything.
