In response to this complaint we at Pat's Steak House would first like to say as a Locally Family Owned & Operated business that we pride ourselves in taking care of our customers and do all we can to ensure they have the best experience while dining with usWe
have specialized in Rehearsal Dinners for over years & feel very honored to be part of a couples memorable day when they choose to let us host their special night. This party contacted us the week of their wedding in desperate need of a place to host their dinnerWe were told that they were booked at another venue but cancelled last minute because of some issues they had with themWe did not go into why or what exactly was the problem but we were more then willing to work with them and take on their rehearsal dinnerWe catered to exactly what they asked for with the menu and barIt was set in detail a party menu for dinner and a cash bar for drinksWhen the party was booked they were told a "cash bar" means our waiters will not serve drinksGuests must come to the bar and order as well as "cash bar" means exactly thatThe bar will except cash only so please pass that message on to your guestsWhen the party arrived it was apparent that the "cash bar" message was not passed on to the guestsIt was a bit of confusion with people trying to order drinks and not having the cash to pay for itAgainst our policy Pat allowed the bartenders to run a few credit cards for the barBut then a gentleman came into the bar & asked the bartender if he could take his credit card and start a tabHe explained he was the brother of the groom and wanted to take care of itHe ordered many drinks himself along with guests coming into the bar…ord***g drinks & asking to put it on "gentleman's name" tab. We are aware of how some people in a party may hear a tab is open & then may just start putting drinks on itThat is why the bartender checked with this gentleman not just once but three different times to say "Are you sure it's ok for these people to be putting drinks on your tab?" Three times this customer said "YES" he was taking care of itThe reason our bartender asked numerous times was because guests were ord***g; Long Island Ice Teas, Bourbon, Vodka, Beer, Wine etcAnd as we all know those drinks begin to add upSo our bartender felt the obligation to continue to check with this customer. Again, not just once but three different timesThis gentleman reassured us every time we checked with him that he was buying the drinksHe had no problem with putting drinks on his tab during the party but after is when he said he never authorized us to put all these drinks on his tabHe meant for just a few people to be able to use itWe explained to him that we asked numerous times if it was ok for this reason alone & we feel like we went above and beyond to make sure we checked with him when people continued to come in and gave us his name to put there order onI'm not sure what more we could of done on our endThose drinks were ordered & served from our bar with the understanding that we would get paid for the bar tab at the end of the nightIn response to his desired outcome of the situation we would like to clarify that there were not two separate wedding parties occurring within feet of each otherThis was our only rehearsal dinner that eveningWe were under the assumption that this would be a cash bar and was ready to abide by that until this family member came in and changed what was plannedOur bartender even committed to this gentleman on what a great brother he was for taking care of people's drinksI would also like to clarify that his total bar tab that was charged to him was $He was not charged over $for the bar tab.Now I'm not sure exactly how this gentleman could say we did nothing to accommodate this confusionThere were numerous phone calls & conversations about this issueWe even waived the $room charge. So this party had a private dining room on a Friday evening with no room chargeWe waived that fee for them and we at Pat's Steak House feel like we went above and beyond to take care of this party and make their rehearsal dinner a special nightUpon this party leaving everyone was very complimentary and thanked us for a great eveningWe take great pride in celebrating these special occasions with our customers and we feel strongly that they got a great night of celebrating and now one individual wants to dispute the chargesWe have tried to settle this on our own but this gentleman was very clear that he was going to dispute the charges with his credit card company and write us a very bad reviewThis has been a headache on our end as well & we hate for any customer to leave our establishment unhappy but again I personally talked to the guests and checked on this party and everyone was enjoying themselves and said everything was wonderful during the nightWe went out of our way to make sure their evening was special for them and had not one complaint from this party while they were dining with us. Again we feel very strongly that we held up our end of the evening & provided them with a wonderful experienceHowever, we do apologize for the confusion & misunderstanding but we feel that waiving the private room fee was more than fair on our end in solving this problemThank you for your time & for bringing this to our attentionPat's Steak House
