1) I stated that her husband had attempted to complete the bathroom prior because we did not complete all the work done in the bathroomSome of the demo, plumbing, and subflooring had been completed prior to us even being contacted for an estimate, but not all the demo was complete as customer statedWe can provide pictures as neededWe began demo on September 14th, The framing around the original shower was existing including soffitThere was still luan under the tile and above the subfloor that needed to be removedThe double sink vanity, toilet, mirror, and lighting above vanity were all still in placeThe tub area had a strip of subfloor missing (approximately 7.5' by 12" long) and the drywall was partially taken downThe schedule for the work to be completed was agreed to upon the signing of the contractDemo was to be done Sept 14-(as we had a 3-day opening) and the actual rebuild would be Oct3rd through Oct 14th (due to a prior contracted job) At start of job/demo: the shower area was demoed, including the soffit (with bio hazard waste from a previous rodent decaying in it) removal of vanity, mirror, toilet, and lighting removal of the remaining original tile and luan down to the subfloor removal of all debris and organized the existing materials in the room 2) I stated that the customer changed things from the original agreement (I did not say "constantly", just that she did in fact change original agreement.) The items below were not part of the original agreement: Picking up supplies from retailer (instead of having it all delivered to the home) Install shelf/wall behind tub for knickknacks Install a recessed shelf in shower for shampoos Install a bench in shower Change recessed lighting to a hanging light fixture Install recessed light in shower area Changed the dimensions of the shower (she even stated in her rebuttal that the dimensions were changed the day prior) 3) He arrived at the job site on October 7th at approximately 8/amUpon entering the garage, he noted all our tools in a pile in the center of the garageHe inquired what was going on and was informed by the husband that they have a family emergency and were leaving town later that morningHe gathered the tools and leftLater he contacted Andrea via text and discussed our availability to complete the bathroom after they returnedHe informed her that we had another contracted job scheduled to begin on Oct17th and we would not be available until November 1st aHer statement of us walking off the job and breeching contract is falseIf we were walking off the job and not going to complete the work, we would not have had to come back after our tools nor would we have discussed our availability at a later date as she herself stated in her rebuttal"After the company advised he was essentially walking off the job, breaching contract and leaving us high and dry in the middle of a job to start another projectwe had him collect his tools because we did not our home and our garage in further disarray for the month or more that PRJ stated they would be unavailable." 4) I already sent the information about offering a settlement in the previous statementWe did in fact offer a settlement and even considered it taken when we did not hear from themWe emailed them a copy as well as texted both husband and wife about itThis is the first we have heard from them at all since last October (months ago and it was through the email sent by the Revdex.com about their complaint 5) Our response to her final section: NOTE we were not able to complete the job and did not even do most of these #1: walking off the jobwe stated above that we did not walk off the job #2: the day he showed up to work and ended up gathering the tools because we were let go, was the day he was to finish installing the tub and vanity because the customer needed to still purchase the proper plumbing fixtures for eachTherefore, the tub and vanity were merely placed in the bathroom but not installedWe did not connect the tub to the plumbing nor did we connect the sinks to the plumbingIf this became a problem later it was not completed by us and not ours to blame #Tile: First off, we double mudMeaning we mud both the bottom of the tile and the floor, creating a solid sealThis is what adheres the tiles to the Durock and not the groutGrout is a cosmetic toolThe type of floor the customer choose does not require a thick grout line because it is to look like a natural wood floor (which does not have grout)As far as the sub floor goes, we only added the portion of the floor that was missing which sits under the tub and if it was installed improperly then the tub would not have been supported and would have fallen through the floor #4: Shut off valves- they are not required for either the shower or the tub by codeThere is no standard or uniform shower head height that builders must conform toThe height of the shower head above the floor is APPROX6'6", but not required #5: Large hole left in the ceilingWe were not able to complete the job and this is one of the things that did not get done due to customer letting us go We have pictures of the work we completed at the time they let us go and can provide themAnything completed after that was not done by us and we are not responsible for anything that was done incorrectlyWe were informed that they would take care of the remaining work because they did not want to wait the few extra weeks after their return when we would be able to complete the jobWe then drew up the settlement and sent it to themI would like to point out that the majority of their complaints are about work that was performed after they let us go
We were hired to redo her master bathroom that her husband had tried to do himselfAs we began the work, they changed things within the contract a few times and they husband decided he would finish some of the workAfter we completed the tiLE on the floor, we were told by them that they had a family emergency and were leaving town the next dayUpon arrival to gather out tools and things, it was all stacked in the garageIt was made clear by the husband that we would not be returningWe drew up an agreement to terminate the contract and a settlement offer was givenWe emailed it to them and never received a responseWe considered it an agreementSee attached documents(1501516267860591522039)

5) Our response to her final section: NOTE we were not able to complete the job and did not even do most of these
#1: walking off the jobwe stated above that we did not walk off the job
#2: the day he showed up to work and ended up gathering the tools because we were let go, was the day he was to finish installing the tub and vanity because the customer needed to still purchase the proper plumbing fixtures for eachTherefore, the tub and vanity were merely placed in the bathroom but not installedWe did not connect the tub to the plumbing nor did we connect the sinks to the plumbingIf this became a problem later it was not completed by us and not ours to blame

family emergency and were leaving town the next day. Upon arrival to gather out tools and things, it was all stacked in the garage. It was made clear by the husband that we would not be returning. 1) I stated that her husband had attempted to complete the bathroom prior because we did not complete all the work done in the bathroom. Some of the demo, plumbing, and subflooring had been completed prior to us even being contacted for an estimate, but not all the demo was complete as customer stated. We can provide pictures as needed. We began demo on September 14th, 2016. The framing around the original shower was existing including soffit. There was still luan under the tile and above the subfloor that needed to be removed. The double sink vanity, toilet, mirror, and lighting above vanity were all still in place. The tub area had a strip of subfloor missing (approximately 7.5' by 12" long) and the drywall was partially taken down. The schedule for the work to be completed was agreed to upon the signing of the contract. Demo was to be done Sept 14-16 (as we had a 3-day opening) and the actual rebuild would be Oct. 3rd through Oct 14th (due to a prior contracted job).
At start of job/demo:
the shower area was demoed, including the soffit (with bio hazard waste from a previous rodent decaying in it)
removal of vanity, mirror, toilet, and lighting
removal of the remaining original tile and luan down to the subfloor.
removal of all debris and organized the existing materials in the room
2) I stated that the customer changed things from the original agreement (I did not say "constantly", just that she did in fact change original agreement.) The items below were not part of the original agreement:
Picking up supplies from retailer (instead of having it all delivered to the home)
Install shelf/wall behind tub for knickknacks
Install a recessed shelf in shower for shampoos
Install a bench in shower
Change recessed lighting to a hanging light fixture
Install recessed light in shower area
Changed the dimensions of the shower (she even stated in her rebuttal that the dimensions were changed the day prior)
3) He arrived at the job site on October 7th at approximately 8/9 am. Upon entering the garage, he noted all our tools in a pile in the center of the garage. He inquired what was going on and was informed by the husband that they have a family emergency and were leaving town later that morning. He gathered the tools and left. Later he contacted Andrea via text and discussed our availability to complete the bathroom after they returned. He informed her that we had another contracted job scheduled to begin on Oct. 17th and we would not be available until November 1st.
a. Her statement of us walking off the job and breeching contract is false. If we were walking off the job and not going to complete the work, we would not have had to come back after our tools nor would we have discussed our availability at a later date as she herself stated in her rebuttal. "After the company advised he was essentially walking off the job, breaching contract and leaving us high and dry in the middle of a job to start another project... we had him collect his tools because we did not our home and our garage in further disarray for the month or more that PRJ stated they would be unavailable."
4) I already sent the information about offering a settlement in the previous statement. We did in fact offer a settlement and even considered it taken when we did not hear from them. We emailed them a copy as well as texted both husband and wife about it. This is the first we have heard from them at all since last October (9 months ago and it was through the email sent by the Revdex.com about their complaint.
5) Our response to her final section: NOTE we were not able to complete the job and did not even do most of these
#1: walking off the job... we stated above that we did not walk off the job.
#2: the day he showed up to work and ended up gathering the tools because we were let go, was the day he was to finish installing the tub and vanity because the customer needed to still purchase the proper plumbing fixtures for each. Therefore, the tub and vanity were merely placed in the bathroom but not installed. We did not connect the tub to the plumbing nor did we connect the sinks to the plumbing. If this became a problem later it was not completed by us and not ours to blame.
#3 Tile: First off, we double mud. Meaning we mud both the bottom of the tile and the floor, creating a solid seal. This is what adheres the tiles to the Durock and not the grout. Grout is a cosmetic tool. The type of floor the customer choose does not require a thick grout line because it is to look like a natural wood floor (which does not have grout). As far as the sub floor goes, we only added the portion of the floor that was missing which sits under the tub and if it was installed improperly then the tub would not have been supported and would have fallen through the floor.
#4: Shut off valves- they are not required for either the shower or the tub by code. There is no standard or uniform shower head height that builders must conform to. The height of the shower head above the floor is APPROX. 6'6", but not required.
#5: Large hole left in the ceiling.... We were not able to complete the job and this is one of the things that did not get done due to customer letting us go.
We have pictures of the work we completed at the time they let us go and can provide them. Anything completed after that was not done by us and we are not responsible for anything that was done incorrectly. We were informed that they would take care of the remaining work because they did not want to wait the few extra weeks after their return when we would be able to complete the job. We then drew up the settlement and sent it to them. I would like to point out that the majority of their complaints are about work that was performed after they let us go.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Where do I begin??? The fact that my husband, a highly intelligent and capable engineer attempted to complete our bath remodel is completely irrelevant and off topic. We did not make revisions to the scope of work per the initial request or as PRJ states, "constantly change things". I did however, insist that PRJ Construction Concepts complete work to the specifications I requested after he measured the shower dimensions incorrectly and built a wall that made it nearly impossible to access the toilet. I advised him this was not acceptable and had he followed the dimensions I requested he would not have to tear the framing out and rebuild it to the dimensions we discussed the day prior.
My husband and I had the bathroom completely demoed before work begin which saved PRJ considerable time and resources. We never agreed to finish the work ourselves or stated we could not allow PRJ to complete work as agreed due to a family emergency. Why would we pay someone 4,000.00 to do work ourselves??? After the company advised he was essentially walking off the job, breaching contract and leaving us high and dry in the middle of a job to start another project... we had him collect his tools because we did not our home and our garage in further disarray for the month or more that PRJ stated they would be unavailable. We never heard of a request to terminate the contract or our agreement in any capacity and whether it was emailed remains to be seen. We primarily communicated via phone calls and text. I have 2 numbers for contact from the company received neither a voicemail or text to indicate they were attempting to close any contract with me. The attempt to resolve the issue on their end is made up and entirely insincere.
The fact still remains, PRJ Construction Concepts breached our contract by
1. Walking off the job with work incomplete and stating they would not be back for nearly a month. I clearly communicated that I needed the work complete by ________ before providing a second deposit installment as referenced on the check written on ______. Both representatives from the company agreed to these terms yet, provided us with an excuse instead of a product.
2. The work completed was done poorly and had to be redone. Including but not limited to...
a. redoing the plumbing connection made tub install.
b. opening the ceiling below tub to access the shut off valve connection made inaccessible due to his poor layout.
C. Tearing out 3/4 of the tile flooring.
D. Repairing poorly installed subfloor and providing more support to stop tiles from popping.
E. Re-tiling floor correctly and applying enough grout for tiles to adhere.
F. Cutting out large section of Duroc installed unevenly so that tile would lay flush.
G. Moving shower plumbing on same wall to make the shut off valve accessible and shower height standard.
H. Large gap left in ceiling repair and unsightly compound job.
