This is in response to the message from consumer ID # ***. In my response to his reply I am attaching the credit sales receipts and the copy of his work orderFirst of all I do not appreciate the insults to me or to my place of business that consumer has been making in these responses or on other social media sitesI have been nothing but professional in my responses and would like the same in returnI take pride in the work that is done in my place of businessI have many happy, loyal and returning customersI am an ASE Certified Technician with over years as a transmission rebuilder and a drive train specialist As I stated in the last response I performed a diagnostic test with a fee of $This is my standard rate of $plus $for taxIf he were to have taken it to the dealership their rates for doing the same diagnostic test would have been $plus or by the hourHe was also charged $for the wheel drive moduleThe total of these two were $and that is what he was chargedI did not charge him a labor fee or apply taxes to the partIf I had done so the total charge would have been $ I feel like that I am repeating myself but to better explain I will go into further detail about the diagnosis of his Ford Fdiesel truckIn doing the diagnostic test on my computer scan tool and reviewing the codes it lead to a problem with the wheel drive transfer case moduleThis module supplies voltage and grounds to various wheel drive electrical componentsThis module is located up under the dash of this vehicleAt his time I advised the consumer of what the vehicle needed, the price, how long it would take for the part to come in and that if the part needed to be programmed at the dealership that he would need to leave his truckHe agreed and paid the diagnostic fee $and the part was $ I reschedule an appointment for him to bring his vehicle back in three days and that there would be a labor fee of $for installation and taking to the dealer to be programmed which he was never charge this fee because on the day of installation he refused to leave his vehicle and said he would take it to the dealershipI tried to explain that he would be charged a regular programming fee and labor rate because the dealership gives me a discount on programming due to the fact that no appointment is needed and the vehicle is dropped off so they can get it in some time during the day I am sorry that the consumer is without a vehicle but that is not to my doingsHe took it over to *** Ford and had to leave it for three days is what I was informed by him and the dealershipIf he hadn’t been so insistent upon not leaving his vehicle and taking it there himself then it would have been back in his possession the same dayThe dealer was the one that told him that it needed another part in which it may or may not have needed itAfter the module was installed I never got to recheck the vehicleThe consumer mentioned something about a recall and that I have no information onThat was done at the dealershipI do not do any recall or any vehicles under manufacturer warrantyI advise the customer that for those issues the vehicle must be taken to the dealershipWhen it I last seen the consumer’s truck it was running and he was headed for the dealershipI never opened the hood on his truck nor did I drive the truckHe had his truck to two other places after it had left my shop and what they did to it or advised him was between him and those two shopsIf he hadn’t been so instant upon not leaving his vehicle, being in my shop bay at the time the vehicle was being diagnosed, and taking it to the dealer himself then he wouldn’t have been in the predictament that he is now Once again I am sorry that he hasn’t a vehicle for his company businessI had nothing to do with the running of his vehicle except for the wheel drive issue and that part would have been repaired correctly if the customer hadn’t been in such a hurry and insisted he not leave his vehicleMost shops require that you leave your vehicle when doing a diagnostic check to have time to check everythingThe Fthat the consumer states that the transmission doesn’t work is none of my concern since I didn’t work on it nor did I know anything about itMaybe the consumer needs to do better maintenance on his vehicles or not buy junk for his business As far as I am concerned I did the work on the vehicle that needed to be done and was paid for the work that his vehicle received. Well not really because I installed it and didn’t charge him labor in which I should haveI explained to the consumer when he called a week later yelling and cussing me on the phone that he wanted to return the module because that wasn’t the problem and his truck didn’t run because the turbo had went outI explained that electrical parts were not returnable after installationHe said that the dealer ship told him he needed more partsIn that respect of needing more parts was between him and the dealershipI could even go into further explaining how the wheel drive module and the turbo are located in two separate places and one has nothing to do with the other but I am not going to In my opinion this consumer is the type of person that wants something for nothingHe kept saying that people try to rape him on prices for his vehicle ever where he takes itWell my advice would be for him to hire his own personal technician that he can trust to work on his company’s vehiclesI wouldn’t dream of having him to do a fence job for me and half way through the job tell him I wanted some else to finish the job because I didn’t like his price after he started In closing I will say I feel sorry for the trouble he is havingI performed the work on his vehicle and was paid for the work that was doneI will not pay or refund money for something that was not my faultI have a signed work order and receipts on what the customer agreed to pay me for the work that was doneSincerely, Joshua P***
I have received you letter of complain of lD [redacted]and would like to respond to this complain with my side ofthe story. lt as follows:The customer was at a tire shop in front of my business and the owner called to ask me if I would come to his shopwith my scan tool to put this customer's truck on...
it. I told them to give me about 20 minutes because I was in theprocess of working on another customer's vehicle. Before I had a chance to go there, the said customer in thiscomplaint came to my shop. He was wanting to know why his 4 wheel drive wasn't working properly. I scanned hisvehicle and it had several codes and one was for the 4 wheel drive module and an actuator. When it comes toelectrical issues on the transfer case it's a process of elimination. I advised him to bring it back so I could go into amore detailed diagnostic check and set him up an appointment for him to drop the vehicle off. He came back onsaid appointment date and would not leave the vehicle because he no other transportation. I even offered to givehim a ride. I checked the wiring before replacing the module and contacted local Ford dealer for the purchase of themodule. Ford dealership advised me to bring vehicle there for module to be programmed. Customer agreed to onestimate of total of $341.33. The price of the module including time out of my shop to toke it to the Ford dealershipand the part was $199.99 plus $120.0O for labor ond diagnostic time and 7% sales tox. lt took 3 days for part toarrive and advised customer he would have to bring back in and drop off truck for the day. He arrived and onceagain would not leave vehicle to have module installed and taken to dealer to be programmed because all thedealers in my area work with me on doing the reprogramming. The get the vehicle in at their earliest time andthat's why it has to be left. He refused and said he would take it to dealer for programming and I explained it maycost him more as walk in customers get charged full labor prices at dealership. He paid his bill in which came to$269.65 and that included parts, labor and tax. I found out 3 days later that dealership informed customer thattruck needed and actuator and he once again refused to let them install it. He called demanding his money backand I tried to explain to him that it might have needed extra parts and that's part of the process of elimination. Themodule controls the whole 4 wheel drive unit including actuator. The part is electrical and non-refundable atdealership once installed. lt would be the same at the dealership except he would have spent more money. Theturbo charger has nothing to do with the module that I installed it is part of the engine and the module is part ofthe transfer case unit. I had never even driven customer's vehicle. I am on ASE Certified technician and I run myshop as professional business. I am qualified to diagnosis any vehicle and my scan tool is not a toy but is a verycomplex diagnostic tool that I have 20 years in operating. So for him to call me back on the phone and berate myskill level and the quality of my workman ship is intolerable. I did my job professionally as a technician but him as acustomer, not so professional.
Let me know what you're going to do I need my money back if you can't do anything I'm going to contact the council and let them know this is the reason why I don't want to be a credit it with the Revdex.com is because they don't do anything anyway not only did the man go into my computer and now my truck isn't running he had me pay 200 and $70 for stuff that I did not need you can call Ford and they will tell you that 1999 and above come preprogrammed so when price sends me over there to get it Programmed it is very obvious that he does not know what he is doing Period. So he should have never hooked his diagnostic machine up to my truck and maybe it would still be running at least right now thanks [redacted]
This shows the charge on the credit card statement for [redacted] there are two charges from Price's garage one for the computer and one for his little labor I will get the statement of whatever for did on some kind of recall wish I would have never went to either one of the places at least the truck was running now I am at a loss for a work vehicle as our other flatbed is having a transmission issue this Ford F-550 never had any problems prior to taking it in with the exception of the four wheel drive not engaging the truck ran fine and now I can't drive it at all thank you (attached)This is where it has set and is still sitting right now I'm at the point where the only person that I even trust is myself to work on my vehicles and of course I could just gas at the parts also like Price's garage does thank you
