we received bad weather with multiple inches of snow and low or negative temperatures that caused most roads to be impassable. To try to get caught up the drivers would work in the evenings to go back to roads that were missed. Some of these roads were not treated well enough for our trucks to drive on and resulted in multiple weeks of missed collection on some roads in the [redacted] Many of our employees came down with a virus that was going around and left us short of drivers and helpers. The cold weather took a toll on their health and some could not make it to work. This was something we have been struggling with for weeks. On Monday January 8th , we had a truck wreck in [redacted] due to road conditions in the [redacted] area that left us short of a packer truck for a few days. On Monday January 15th , this same truck slid into a ditch in the [redacted] area because of the icy roads. We have had multiple truck accidents and vehicle break downs causing a delay in pick up for most of our customers. The secondary roads in [redacted] are not always taken care of in a timely manner due to the unpredictable weather. The phone in the office has been very busy due to the delays in service, billing questions and general company calls. We check the voicemail daily and return calls to customers who leave usable information in their message such as a name and call back number. There is only one number to contact the office on so if your call is missed then we are on the phone, checking the voicemail or you’ve called outside of business hours. The office staff makes a list of roads that customers call in about and give to the Route Manager to see if the roads are passable enough to go back to try to collect trash. We have had a few of our employees working 7 days a week trying to get caught up on the missed roads. We know this situation is very frustrating to our customers, but we are trying our best to get their trash collected. We have employees working overtime to get roads that were missed. We offer a credit to any account that disposes of their trash elsewhere as long as they provide a copy of a receipt from the transfer station or landfill. We do not offer refunds unless you cancel service and are paid ahead because once we collect the customer’s trash we are taking any extra bags at no charge since we were behind on pick up. This means we are still taking the same amount of trash to the landfill. We are not refusing service to any of our customers.
Our company had an issue with a shortage of ID tags for the customers. There was an ID tag issued for this customer so they will not be missed any more. Our billing cycle is quarterly but always shows a quarter ahead. That doesn't not mean you have to pay in advance and always shows a correct due...
