This company is now doing business as Alamo Design & Remodeling, Owner: Hector M***We signed a contract on Nov 6, and remixing of lichen was to be completed between 8-weeks as states on the contractMrM***, did not finish the work and walked out the Thursday before Easter SundayThrough out this horrible nightmare, lot's of phone calls, messages too no availHad to hire another contractor to finish the the jobI, also have been calling his cabinet maker, which he still needs too install shelves and a cover too seal the front of the sinkMy last message to MrM***, I stated that he needed to VOID my contract due to him walking out after he collected the installment with no notice, total payment to MrM [redacted] was $18,000+I will not recommend MrHector M***'s company (Alamo Design & Remodeling)
The photos that show the damage on the interior and exterior walls are prior to levelingwhich show evidence of caulking, mortar to patch damages areas and clearly show no soakerhose .In my last visit in November when [redacted] is saying I took the photos , he had the soaker hose around in his entire house at that time(see photo)On the prior visit be for November [redacted] told me that he is getting bids from $-$ dollars for doing the repairs on the wallsThat he would be happy to hire us to do that if we can get him a better priceWe could have given him a better price just didn't feel comfortable doing any more work for him .Prior to that our sales rep also turned down the opportunity to sale him a patio cover in the back yard [redacted] is calling me a liar about [redacted] being out there [redacted] is submitting a notarized letter simply stating that [redacted] was walking in the yard upon ***s arrival and then afterwards proceeded to walk [redacted] through out his yard to inspect for any debris that might have been missed. The holes were filled in twice once by [redacted] and the second time by [redacted] and *** The statement he made about an unsafe walk path/stairs is also not trueThe photos I sent in the first response show that it was safe to walk on,it was not a dangerous areaWe did grind down the concrete but that was only to try to make him happy. The Photo shows a broom finish surface which means it wasn't grind down much at all it was really just to try to make him happyThe instructions given on the soakerhose we're to water hours a day ( only ) the first week due to extreme speration and dryness of ground (See previous photo). Then only once or twice per week for the next month depending on weather and results of first week
Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: (1)Yes it is true that my wife was responsible for picking out the colors, however that would not have delayed the demo work that was to be done in the 1st phase (2)He is LYING about telling us to sign a waiver for delays caused by special order items not being available at the time of install (3)The reason I was upset was because he told my wife he would not give her a full refund, after she got tired of his excuses and lies (4) All the items that we were responsible for buying for the project (light fixtures, toilet, sink fixtures) are common of the shelf items that are readily available at [redacted] and [redacted] and would not have delayed the projectHe is using this as an excuse (5) He did not start the project, did not buy any materials and we would like for this company/individual to give us a full refund This man comes in your home touting his Revdex.com credentials and quite frankly this man is a liar and a cheat! Not to mention that he told us to go to Dahill to pick out granite and tile and when I talked to him about starting, he said that was the not the correct place we were suppose to go to the fabricator to look for just a piece He said he would txt me the correct place He never did Regards, [redacted] ***
[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of MediationIf you wish, you may update it before sending it.] Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , Since there was no attempt on business part to resolve the issue, I find that Mediation is necessary Regards, [redacted]
I was hire on Mar the 31st by Mr*** to do a custom bathroom remodeling job Custom closets.Since he had a deadline I made a list of items be purchased prior to starting installation so there will be no delays with this deadlineApril the fourth I text to see if they had any
questions or already purchased items needed.Days later I called to try to see if he I didn't have been purchased I did tell her you were willing to start but that they needed to sign a waiver simply stating if they were any delays due to missing or special order items that would not be my fault received my message,no response.Mrs.*** called on April the 21st to see what was taking so long I explained to her that I wasn't getting any feedback from husband she said he's kinda bad at that, I'll takeOver project said fine .Asked if I could meet whit her ASAP.I scheduled her the following morning (04-21-14) then call Mr *** to let him know that I spoke to his wife and was a little upsetconfirmed that to me that he did receive the message and had related it to her.that he did not want to be responsible for picking colors or purchasing items that it was all Up to her
During the presentation our consultant explain the importance on foundation maintenancePrimarily adding gutters and soaker hoses, plus the number of piers in the proper locations as neededWeeks later ***
*** contacted our sale consulate *** about hiring us for his job .After photos were taken in pre job inspection was done *** added two free pier beams because not enough were in the original request Afterwards express to *** and *** that he was very pleased with the workThat his cracks had closed up some and his doors were now able to opening and closing better
A week later he called about debris left on his yardWhen *** arrived *** handed him small pieces of rebar, *** then pickup 1/a wheelbarrow of concrete that was mix in with dirt in his yard I came over to visit with him to make sure he was happy , the only thing he pointed out is that the new concrete was slightly higher than his old one on sidewalkThis is very common on foundation concrete patches .We went ahead and grind it down to level it out and also filled in dirt where neededI myself point out to him the one of the reason that was causing the eroding dirt and that he needed to place soaker hoses right away and splash guards(see photos)
Months later *** *** contact *** that he thought his foundation was moving after second inspection There was a lot of separation between ground and his foundation (see photos)I expressed the amount of damage it was doing to his foundation and that with out following directions not much we could help him with
*** *** Assured me he would go and buy them right awayHe call me a few days later to inform me that it was doneI told he to let it run as directed and let me know when ground closed back upUnfortunately damage had already occurred , the house foundation did lower On back left cornerThis is the area were ground opened up the most(see photos) We tried to correct damaged done by redoing that section of homeThe combination of his sewer location and
lack of maintaince will always make his foundation problematic
My photos will show that the damage he Is seeking payment for we're pre existing which is the reason he was getting bids on leveling his house
Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:These photo’s, presented by [redacted] were taken when he last visited my home (on or about Nov. 11, 2013), after I sent him a text stating that he has made no effort to address our foundation problems. I told him that if I did not hear from him in 10 days, I would seek a reputable foundation repair company to take care of my needs. He showed up 9 days later, making excuses about someone taking money from the company and that he suffered a heart attack. This is when he took the photo’s . In reference to his helper [redacted] hauling off cement with metal rebar in it, that is an outright lie because I still have the cement and rebar in my garage from when I picked it out, to show [redacted] what punctured three of my tires on my riding mower. I have spoken to [redacted] on the phone, but have never seen or met him. In reference to the soaker hose, when [redacted] came to my house he suggested for me to put a soaker hose around my house. He said that I would need to soak for 2 hours each day for 6 weeks and that would solve the problem and all cracks would come together. I went to the expense of purchasing 250 feet of soaker hose and began watering two days after [redacted] suggested, not to mention the large water bill . I have done everything that was asked of me with no communication and results. Just excuses and lies! When the job was first completed, I did tell [redacted] that the one major crack (wall between my bedroom and living area) and the patio doors were closing like they should, however the cement job was awful and dangerous and the steps leading from my deck to my yard were a mess. [redacted] had [redacted] reconstruct the steps but they were not built correctly at the bottom and my wife fell twisting her ankle and both wrists. Since that day our house, our home, interior walls, and brick have gotten worse each month. This is why we have contacted the Revdex.com. [redacted]’s company stated that the leveling would be overseen by an Engineer, but NO Engineer! They told us that a soil sample would be performed, NO Soil Sample performed! When asked if it was my responsibility to fill in the holes when the dirt sunk, I was told that it was their responsibility and that they would come out, Nobody came out to fill in holes. Again, I have done everything that was asked of me, and [redacted] has the gall to accuse me that lack of maintenance has caused these problems! [redacted] wants to run a company , but does not want to take responsibility for its actions. This is why I am asking for a full refund of $8486.00 plus another $5000.00 compensation to fix the damage occurred by [redacted]’s company.
Regards,
[redacted]
Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
1. Photos shown are of the exterior of the house after leveling. The mortar patches were done by the gentlemen who actually did the leveling the second time they were out here.
2. We had previously, the prior year, put a soaker hose around the house thinking that the drought was the reason for the crack in the wall by the master bedroom door and master bathroom door (those were the only visible interior cracks). That soaker hose was still present at the time the levelers began working and was removed and destroyed in the beginning process. We were not instructed to put a soaker hose around the house by [redacted] until we had contacted him a month or so after the leveling had been done and we had not seen any improvement in fact we had detected additional cracks in other areas of the house as well as additional cracks in the master bedroom that were not there prior to the leveling.
3. [redacted] was never told that we had been getting bids for repair of the interior. At the time the sales agent, [redacted], was discussing the foundation repair we asked his if the company does interior repairs and he had indicated that it would be less expensive if we hired a “handy man” to do the few cosmetic repairs we need to have done. We had spoken with [redacted] about a patio cover and that is what we had been getting a bid for. [redacted]’s sales agent did not turn down the opportunity to sell us a patio cover for any reason other than he felt it was best to get the foundation leveled before adding any addition strain to the back of the house (this is the side of the house the master bedroom is located). [redacted] was the one who told us we needed to wait a least 6 months before we did any cosmetic repairs or to add the patio cover. We had agreed to visit with him once the foundation had settled.
4. I have spoken to [redacted] on the phone but have never visited with him. I have only had contact with the gentlemen doing the work and [redacted], with the exception [redacted]. In fact [redacted] was the one who I showed the cement with the rebar. [redacted] agreed that the workers should not have thrown the cement in the yard and that he would talk to them about it.
5. The walk path was unsafe because there was a “hump” in the concrete that after I pointed it out to [redacted], he agreed to have someone come and grind it down. It is now level but, as [redacted] stated, does have brush marks in it. The steps were rebuilt with sub standard wood (not treated wood which was what the steps were built with prior). They were built with two 2X6’s on each step with the exception of the bottom step which was built with only one 2X6 which is what my wife fell from cause her to hurt her ankle and wrist. This should have also been built with two 2X6’s for safety.
6. Even though [redacted] stated that the holes had been filled in twice the soil continues to sink. We have tried to communicate with [redacted], since he told me that it was their responsibility to fill in the holes, but I never get a response from him. I have many more pictures but was unable to send.
Regards,
[redacted]

The photos that show the damage on the interior and exterior walls are prior to leveling. which show evidence of caulking, mortar to patch damages areas and clearly show no soakerhose .In my last visit in November when [redacted] is saying I took the photos , he had the soaker hose around in his entire house at that time. (see photo). On the prior visit be for November [redacted] told me that he is getting bids from $4000.00 -$6000.00 dollars for doing the repairs on the walls. That he would be happy to hire us to do that if we can get him a better price. We could have given him a better price just didn't feel comfortable doing any more work for him .Prior to that our sales rep also turned down the opportunity to sale him a patio cover in the back yard.
[redacted] is calling me a liar about [redacted] being out there. [redacted] is submitting a notarized letter simply stating that [redacted] was walking in the yard upon [redacted]s arrival and then afterwards proceeded to walk [redacted] through out his yard to inspect for any debris that might have been missed. The holes were filled in twice once by [redacted] and the second time by [redacted] and [redacted].
The statement he made about an unsafe walk path/stairs is also not true. The photos I sent in the first response show that it was safe to walk on,it was not a dangerous area. We did grind down the concrete but that was only to try to make him happy. The Photo shows a broom finish surface which means it wasn't grind down much at all it was really just to try to make him happy. The instructions given on the soakerhose we're to water 2 hours a day ( only ) the first week due to extreme speration and dryness of ground (See previous photo). Then only once or twice per week for the next month depending on weather and results of first week.
This company is now doing business as Alamo Design & Remodeling, Owner: Hector M[redacted]. We signed a contract on Nov 6, 2015 and remixing of lichen was to be completed between 8-12 weeks as states on the contract. Mr. M[redacted], did not finish the work and walked out the Thursday before Easter Sunday. Through out this horrible nightmare, lot's of phone calls, messages too no avail. Had to hire another contractor to finish the the job. I, also have been calling his cabinet maker, which he still needs too install 3 shelves and a cover too seal the front of the sink. My last message to Mr. M[redacted], I stated that he needed to VOID my contract due to him walking out after he collected the 3 installment with no notice, total payment to Mr. M[redacted] was $18,000+. I will not recommend Mr. Hector M[redacted]'s company (Alamo Design & Remodeling).
