Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 7, 2015/09/29) */ Regarding the ***,s complaint: Firstly they did get their security deposit back I do not know exactly what date they received it but our check was dated the of August Their lease was not over until the of September 2015, I as a favor to them found a new tenant to rent the property as of August 15, 2015, I also as a favor refunded a 1/of month of august rent to them, which the owner of the property did not have to doSo as far as we are concerned we helped them and they got their security deposit backThe owner with the new lease is still short 1/of month rent because the new tenant's started on the 15th of August not September in retrospect I should have just let them pay for another month and then rented it to someone elseThey have their money and more then they deserved Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 9, 2015/09/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) So as far as we are concerned we helped them and they got their security deposit back. We are grateful for the response. Their check was dated 8/24 but as the attached envelope shows, they mailed it on 9/14 and we received it on 9/16 or 31 days after we vacated the place. So it was 10 days past due and no legally required interest was paid. In addition, we had 1 day notice to be out of there if we wanted it to be rented (we did and we were out) and Minnesota law required them to return unused rent if the home was rented to the owner's satisfaction (they accomplished it). We called and spoke with rental agent for Preferred Properties after about 15 days without receiving the check and she said they had 21 days to send it and it was on her desk. She knew of the law and violated it nonetheless. Yesterday she called and screamed at my spouse, issued threats upon receiving the Revdex.com complaint, and would allow no responses.
