Yes we came to the agreement of the business reimbursing us at least the cost of the materials we paid for to redo the job correctlyThe owner of the company agreed to pay for materials but stated it would take him a couple of weeks to come up with the moneyWhen he pays I will gladly resolve this complaint

I contacted the customer right after receiving the complaint. We went over the problem and everything else and came to an agreement. He is satisfied now and it is taken care of.Thanks ***

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Precision Pointing states they did as "per the contract states" but the contract clearly states "the pointing of chimney
from the roofline up"! The definition of roofline is "the outline or outer edge of a roof"! Again, I had several talks with Ryan about the roof leaking prior to hiring himI had five estimates for which Precision Point was the second highest but out whole reason with going with Precision Point was due to them advising and stating in the contract that they would do the brick to the roofline. As for them now stating that this would've cost more if they were to do down to the roofline, this is why I thought their estimate was one of the higher estimates out of the ones I received!

Precision Pointing completed the contract as it was statedWe do not do roofing work so we would not replace flashingWhere it says point from the roof line up that is from the brick that is exposed above the roof line which starts right above the flashingThis job would have been more extensive

Review: The main reason for hiring Precision Pointing to do work on my chimney was they fact that they advised, as well as noted it in the estimate, that they would re-point the brick down to the roof line. This was key as I had a leak at the roof-line. Upon completion of the work I noticed that they did not re-point down to the roof line but down to the start of the flashing! I discussed this with them and was advised "the flashing is not leaking it was the fact that your concrete cap was bad". I debated this with them and explained where the water was coming in at and they reassured me that the flashing was good but that they would send a guy out to re-caulk the flashing, They did this but a few weeks later a rain storm hit and the chimney continues to leak. The leak is in the same spot before hiring them! I sent emails to them about this and to date still no response!Desired Settlement: I would like to hire a contractor to come out and re-point the brick work down to the roof-line and replace the flashing, which would need to have been done if Precision Pointing did as they said in the first place! The receive a refund from Precision Pointing for the cost of the contractor!

Ryan was excellent to work with as well as all the guys on the job. Finished my chimney in a timely manner and I felt the price was fair.

Review: At the beginning of the winter they repointed/repaired my chimney and did a good job. When the job was complete their workman told me that the chimney cap may not have enough clearance. He promised that if we had venting issues, he would return and replace the cap with a more appropriate one. It took several month for it to become apparent but the cap was inadequate. Condensation is coming through the brick and has damaged the plaster inside my house. I am also concerned because I then realized that some of the exhaust fumes are backing up into my basement. I called and was told that they were very busy for spring and that it would be a few weeks. I agreed to this. Three weeks later I had received no call back. I started leaving messages and requesting an update. After 3 more weeks of calling, I have not been contacted. I have left numerous messages and I believe that I am being intentionally avoided. It has been 6 weeks since my initial contact with no call back or communication.Desired Settlement: Remove the cap and replace it with one that flows sufficiently. This is what was promised to me face-to-face and I was also given a 10 year warranty on paper. If you resolve this soon I would even be willing to take care of the damage to my interior plaster myself.

Review: We hired Precision Pointing to replace our garage back wall, a drain system outside behind the wall and a drain running down the driveway. A few blocks were shifting in because of the previous harsh winter of the ground freezing and thawing. At this time we did not have any issues with water coming into the garage. After the wall was completed the wall leaked like a sieve from top to bottom. The owner and his wife were very professional and knowledgeable the day of the estimate. Once we hired them and construction began things went very different. Many shortcuts and absence of the owner for supervision. There are too many complaints to list. Please do not use this company! Here are a few of the nightmares we experienced: 1.The drain pipe that should have been grading downhill to drain the water was going uphill and kinked on top with a cinder block covered with clay instead of clean gravel.2.The back wall was not striked with mortar properly. When asked if he was going to strike the back foundation block the head foremen replied no need striking both sides the mortar from the front wall will be pushed in filling in the back joints/between the 8 inch block. Knowing striking the front and back of a foundation wall is basic block laying 101.3.The back of the wall was not parged and tarred liked agreed upon. 4.The perforated pipe in the driveway was only 8 inches deep at best and should have been below the frost line. If left this way vehicles pulling in the driveway would have crushed the pipe. 5.Multiple holes were left in the back garage wall they were big enough to put my hand in. 6.The shared driveway was left a mess with huge divots not useable after the crew left daily. The neighbor was livid that he had to rack the gravel to fill the holes. Not only so he could park but also that a handicapped family member can walk safely down it.7.Throughout this whole nightmare of amateur workmanship we kept asking the crew is this the correct way to do it (knowing it wasnt) they would tell us what we wanted to hear and continued to do it poorly. My husband and nephew had to dig tons of mixed dirt, clay and some stone from the back wall by hand exposing all of their major mistakes/sloppiness. Not only did we get a loan out and paid 6400.00, we rebought supplies of 400.00 needed for my nephew to redo and put in the proper drain system. We also paid my nephew, who is a contractor by trade, for his week of labor. When we were able to speak to the owner he was very arrogant. The crew was embarrassed to do the work knowing the customer was right. They were told to just get it done. The crew said this was a constant problem the boss/owner [redacted].Desired Settlement: Any reasonable offer we can work out with the owner.

Review: We hired Precision Pointing to tear out our front stone steps and rebuild them, paying a total of $5,800. Even though we setup the job weeks in advance, when the job began they had not pre-ordered the materials and thus we had to compromise the aesthetic so the job could be completed as planned. The crew finished the job before scheduled and thus we we not at home when the job was completed. Before we had arisen the following day they were there to collect the balance due. Upon arising and looking at the steps we saw a separation on one of the landings and that 2 sections were not level. We contacted [redacted] immediately and he set up 2 appointments over the next few weeks and never appeared for either one. A month later we called again - with the same results. No show. In November we attempted again - I even missed one of my grandchild's Thanksgiving programs to be at home to meet him and once again no show. Over Christmas [redacted] scheduled 2 appointments with us and again, no [redacted] appeared. Our house is about listed for sale and we know that this work needed to be completed. At this point we feel filing a compliant is our only hope of resolving this issue.Desired Settlement: We would like the work corrected.

Review: I hired this company to fix front stoop, repoint brick around garage and replace chimney brick. The front stoop workmanship is so poor it didn't even last a few months. The cement is flaking and the work was never completed (never acid washed, footer replaced with brick look (like 2 bricks) or sealed). The contractor promised things he couldn't deliver and now I am paying for it. I was told brick and mortar would match (per the contract) and it doesn't. My chimney looks ridiculous being two different shades of brick. I tried repeatedly to work with the owner and it was like pulling teeth - he eventually ignores all request, but was happy to take the money. I unfortunately paid everything but $250 in hopes he would return and finish what was promised- he didn't. I would not recommend them to do any type of masonry work.Desired Settlement: I have sent a demand letter in order to get a refund and hire another company to redo the work.
