Review: We called Precision Movers based on an online ad - 2 men and truck $50/hour for the first two hours. They said it was $75 but that they would honor the price after speaking with the owner. When the movers came 1.5 hours late they said no - $75 an hour. The two movers were incredibly slow and reckless with the furniture. Mattress bent, two of my grandmothers antique dresses scratched and dented, walls and ceilings and door frames hit. To move a two bedroom apartment 5 miles it took professionals 4 hours. They didn't even get everything into the house - several things left in the garage. We had to fix the mirror supports after that were mounted incorrectly. For all of this, we paid $425. Cash. Absolutely definitely do NOT recommend this company.
Review: I hired Precision Movers to help me move on Saturday, Sept 27th @ 8am. I spoke with their customer service several times prior to the move to confirm arrival time and costs of the move. I was told the price was $95/hr with a $29 gas charge. At the time of service they arrived 2hrs late, very unprofessionally dressed with an unmarked truck. Nothing like the advertisments on the internet that I saw and was expecting. We first went over the charges and paperwork and they tried to charge me a $70 commute charge because they came from Northern Virginia, which was strange since they have a Richmond office. I disputed the charge and they removed it. Then they packed my stuff very slowly, it took them over 2hrs to pack a small 2 bedroom, 1 bath house. They told me I had to pay in cash at the new location, but I wasn't prepared to pay in cash so I had to go to an ATM and get cash which they added the time it took me to drive to the bank and back onto my hourly charges. When I got to the new house they told me my total cost was $452. After I paid them they said I only had 1hr left to unpack my belongs, so they unloaded about half of my stuff. When the hour was done, they said they would not unload or bring anymore of my items inside unless I paid them another $95 dollars. At that point I was very upset and called the Customer Service # to complain. The person on the phone yelled at me and said I had no other option but to pay them additional money or they would leave my stuff on the curb and leave. When I tried to explain my situation the customer service rep hung up on me. Being a woman, alone, I was left with no choice but to drive another 30 mins back to the bank and get more money to pay them for another hour. When I returned they said I only had 30 mins left (even though I was paying for another hour) so they quickly moved my belongings inside my house but placed them all over my house, not in the correct rooms, even though all the boxes were clearly marked and I told them where the heavy furniture should go. I feel like they took advantage of me as a single woman without any options.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $95 that was charged for my travel costs to get cash from my bank. Their credit card machine was down, yet I was penalized for it.

Review: I am on the verge of irate. When I called the company to get a quote then made the reservation I specifically asked if there is a trip charge. I was told no trip charge just a 2 hour minimum. There WAS a trip charge of $70 PLUS $27 in fuel. AND another $100 to move my washer and dryer that I wasn't told about up front. I didn't get a reservation confirmation email or call so I called them to make sure I was still on the list for Saturday. I wasn't told they don't accept checks and they wouldn't unload the truck until I ran to a bank to get cash- thank GOD it was on Saturday morning and I could use the bank branch because you cannot get $600 plus dollars from an ATM.They broke my desk. Absolutely unmendable. Sheer negligence and clumsiness. As I watched them unload my boxes I saw boxes falling off the back of the truck to the ground. My sofa was toward the back of the truck and it was raining..they didn't cover my sofa and let it get soaking wet. The truck floor was filthy and they dragged my mattresses across the truck so there are dirty smears on the sides of our box springs and mattresses.Desired Settlement: I want them to replace my executive 4 drawer desk they broke and refund my moving costs per their Right Way or No Pay policy.

Review: On May 26, 2015 Precision Movers were hired to move furniture from our apartment in [redacted] The service men arrived an hour late and immediately starting complaining they were not supposed to be working our order and had to drive down from Richmond when they should have been off. The small man said it would be about $480 for the moving service, payable in cash at delivery. We agreed, he looked at his watch said it was 9:57am and to initial the start time on his paperwork. The paperwork was not given to us to read or review at any point in time. The men began moving the furniture to the truck, still complaining they were not supposed to working the job. When they came to the bedroom suite I told them the furniture was brand new, heavy and took 2 men to carry it upstairs and to please carry it together. They acknowledged my request, but advised they were ok and began taking the bed down. You could hear the furniture banging and scraping the brick walls as they went down the stairs with it. Upon arrivail in [redacted] they were paid & began unloading the truck. As they brought in the chest of drawers (a tallboy) they dropped it at the entrance way and I actually heard the wood crack. The heavier set man replied "just put some wood glue on it, the owner will reimburse you for it." There is approximately an 8" crack across the bottom right of the dresser. Next they carried in the bed & rails. Upon inspection of the footboard there was a large dent and white paint markings on the cherry finish. When putting together the bed we discovered the left side rail had a large chunk of wood missing from it and was dented deeply in the center. The movers noted some of the issues on their paperwork and asked us to sign off on delivery. At no point in time did we have this paperwork in our hands until AFTER they had left. I emailed the company twice and called once to resolve the issues and have had no response.Desired Settlement: A CSR advised we did not buy the optional "insurance" so the company is not responsible for damages. At no point in time was optional insurance ever mentioned to us and at no point in time did we have the contract to read the information about optional insurance. The mover advised the owner was a good guy and would take care of the damages, just call. I have not been able to get the owner to return my call. I just purchased this king-sized bedroom suite from [redacted] for over $2500. I am requesting the owner completely replace the tall boy chest of drawers as there is no way to repair a large crack and it did not have one until they dropped it in my dining room doorway. The bed comes in sections and I am asking he replace the left side rail that has a chunk of wood missing and the dented foot board.

Review: I hired Precision Moving Services to move my furniture from a condo that I had just sold to a storage unit in [redacted]. The website states that they provide 2-movers and a 24' truck. They showed up with an 18' truck. My complaint is that they scratched almost every piece of furniture that they moved. All of this furniture was purchased new from [redacted] in [redacted] in June of 2014. Every piece of wood furniture has scratched down to the bare wood on the top or sides. The leather couches were scarred down to the bare leather through the color.I pointed this damage to the movers and they took photos with both of their phones, said they would give to their supervisor and I would hear back from the company the next day.Near the end of the next day, after not hearing anything, I called the company and talked to the receptionist She would not let me talk to a [redacted]. When I told her the problem, she put me on hold for several minutes and then returned to the phone. She told me that I had not paid for their insurance so they had no liability for the damage. I explained that I was never offered any insurance. She stated that it is on the contract and I had not paid for it so they had no liability.I have reviewed the contract and the word insurance does not show up anywhere. There are two sentences that refer to VALUATION. I could pay to have the furniture valued at 100% or 60%. This is referred to Basic Value Protection or Replacement Value Protection. I agree this is on the contract but I was never told this was insurance. There is nothing on the contract that says the company has no liability for damage if I do not purchase this additional coverage.I am not asking that the furniture be replaced. I only want a professional company to refinish the furniture back to the new condition that it was in when they started to move it.Lastly, because they only brought an 18' truck they were not able to move all of my furniture. This was done by me the following day.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for the damage to the furniture. [redacted] can provide a company that can complete all the repairs.I would like the Revdex.com to make sure that this company is not in a position to do this to anyone else.Call it bait and switch or just crooked business but I had a condo full of new furniture and now I have a storage unit full of scratched and scarred furniture. In my opinion, crooks are crooks no matter what stripes they wear. Fix or stop their business practices.
