Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
My response is as follows:When it comes to pricing, service charge plus parts is not accurate if you are pricing the cost of the parts 5x's above retail value.Their response is false. Yes, their service man came in on 12/* and told my wife (I was at work) that it was the switching relay. He somehow got it to work, but by the time I got home it was not working. They came on 12/**/16 (I had them wait until I can be home from work for the visit), to do the "repairs". The "repairs" consisted of them changing the entire switching relay only to say it is still not working, we need to change the circulator. At that point I let them do what they had to to get the work done.Make a long story short, the circulator was broken and had blown the fuse on the switching relay. The switching relay did not need replacing. It is like a broke electric device in the house blowing a fuse and the electrician telling you a new circuit breaker board is needed and rewiring the entire thing instead of just changing the one fuse and telling you to get a new appliance.Attached is a picture of the receipt. In their own words" Flow valve leaked ruined circulator. Circulator ruined switching relay" Also attached is a picture of the switching relay with two fuses next to it so you can see the blown fuse on the bottom right compared to a fine fuse on the top right of the picture. There was no need to change the entire switching relay for a blown fuse. As you can see in the picture the original switching relay is in great condition and fairly new.Being in business for "33 years" they should have know that, or maybe they are just professional at scamming customers.Thank you,[redacted]
[redacted] has been a customer of George Hafner since 2014. As always we tell our customers what the service charge will be plus parts. .We did an annual cleaning of the boiler in October 2016. In December 2016 [redacted] called to say he had no heat in one of the heating...
zones, which is not related to a cleaning of the boiler 2 months earlier.. On 12/*/16 my service man was dispatched in the evening and got the heat working and instructed the customer that he would need a switching relay and gave him a price to install. The customer called on 12-*-16 (3 days later) to say the heat for that zone was not working, upon arriving at the house the zone was working. The boiler was working intermitantly and we instructed the customer to turn down the secondary heating for that zone in the house. We did not charge the customer for a service call at this time. On 12-**-16 we return to service the boiler and did the necessary repairs. After the repairs were made [redacted] called and said he thought it was just a blown fuse in the switching relay. We were willing to return and remove the new switching relay and put his switching relay back in with a new fuse, at no charge, but if that did not work and we had to return to re-install the new switching relay again there would be another service charge.I have been in business for 33 years. We do our best to keep the repair cost low for our customers. Our only business is to service heating problems. We do not sell oil.
