We had Dale Powers install central AC in an older home that we were renovating in Kennett Square. He was there quickly, did an excellent job, and his rates were very reasonable. His work enabled us to work in the house over this very hot summer. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Review: My old oil furnace and hot water heater were replaced in January of 2013 by Dale P[redacted] from Powers Heating & Air with a gas furnace and water heater. The gas exhaust was piped without a fan directly to an existing chimney without a liner. The outlet of the chimney is located on the roof of a two story house. The [redacted] Classic gas furnace that Dale P[redacted] installed is 85% efficient. It requires a fan to force the flue gases through the outlet pipe. The height of the outlet pipe needs to kept low to ensure water vapor is vented and does not condense in the exhaust. A couple of months after the gas furnace was installed, my outside wall of the house became visibly wet. The gas furnace had not been installed to code and water vapor was condensing in the chimney. After calling him repeatedly over the next 1.5 years to repair the cause for the wet wall, he installed a fan on the exhaust and vented the flue gases through a 6 ft high pipe. I was charged and paid $1404.40 to repair for the faulty gas furnace installation. This repair did not resolve the problem with my wet wall. Dale capped the exhaust to the chimney and changed the outlet of the chimney on the roof at no charge. This did not help either. My wall continuous to be wet and the stone wall appears to have developed a hair-line crack. When I contacted Dale P[redacted] today, he told me he did not know what to do next; I suggested to get someone else to fix the wet wall and for him to pay for the new repairs, since the wet wall problem had developed as a result of the improper gas furnace installation. He became verbally abusive and told me not to set foot on his property again. Dale P[redacted] lives across the street from me; that is why he was chosen to install the gas furnace.Desired Settlement: I need to have the problem with my outside wet wall fixed. Dale P[redacted] is not able to make the appropriate repairs. I want repair bills to fix the source of the wet wall to be payed by Dale P[redacted]. If there is a crack on the wall, the bill to repair this should also be covered by Dale P[redacted] also. Problems with the wet wall arose from the improper installation of the gas furnace.
