RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: [I wasn't asking for a refund from the previous year. I fully acknowledged that I should have looked over my HSA charges more carefully. I'm reaching out to the BBB because Portal Connects business practices are deceptive and they should not be allowed to continue doing business in that manner. As I stated previously, the [redacted] at the doctors office directed me to checked in on the doctor's I Pad in order to see the doctor. What they didn't tell me was that I was signing up, at the same time, for a free month of Portal Connect's service. After a month Portal Connect AUTOMATICALLY charged my HSA card for a year of their service and I didn't realize it. Portal Connect claims they sent me e-mails telling me that they were charging my HSA card. I don't remember getting the e-mails and if I did receive them I thought it was junk mail and simply deleted it since I wasn't knowingly a Portal Connect customer. I feel like a victim of a scam and would like for the BBB to stop Portal Connects deceptive business practices for the benefit of others.] In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above. Sincerely, [redacted]

Review: Portal Connect is an internet service that my Primary Care doctor is offering to her patients. Portal Connect keeps personal medical records on line, e-mail can be sent to the doctor through their site and appointments can be made through their site. I clearly told the person selling Portal Connect at my doctors office that I am not interested in this service. I don't think I should have to pay someone a yearly $48 fee so that I can see my own medical records, make an appointment or speak to my doctor. Furthermore I only go to my doctor about once a year. I'm a healthy person. The extra $48 is outrageous. A couple of months ago I started receiving e-mails from Portal Connect stating that my HSA card had expired. I've been busy, thought it was junk mail and simply deleted it. Portal Connect continued to send e-mails and I asked to be removed from the e-mail campaign. They promptly e-mailed me back and said I was 2 months into their yearly service and I owed them $68. Their fee has gone up since last year. After a few e-mail exchanges [redacted] at Portal Connect called me and passed me to a [redacted]. It was explained to me that when I went to my doctors office, over a year ago, I signed in on an I Pad. On the I Pad there was box offering a free month of Portal Connect. Portal Connect told me I checked that box. I do not recall checking a box. Especially since I think this is an unnecessary service for me. After a month they called my doctor and asked for my HSA card number and charged it $48. Since it's an HSA card, which works like a debit card and not a credit card I didn't notice the charge. I asked Portal Connect to refund my $48 and they said they could not do that. They did remove the $68 fee for this years service that they were attemping to collect.Desired Settlement: It would make me happy to have the $48 refunded. However, I do relaize that I should be looking at my HSA account more closely. Ultimately I feel that Portal Connect's business practices are deceptive and unfair. They had no right take $48 from my HSA account. I don't want this to happen to other people as well.
