Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/11/25) */
Most of what *** *** said is trueSee the attached letter from the first painterOur quote did not said anything about power washing the home before the prep and the paint took placeOn that note We would not have painted over dirty
stuffThe first painter Was removed from the Job due to a problem nothing to his paintingThe second painter did prime and put on a finish coat of paint
As for the blistering paint company rep or I know the exact problemThe paint company did provide a gallon of primer and a gallon of finish coat to the painter I had do the repairs
After all that said if Mr.*** is not happy which he only called twiceI will give him a check for what l paid the painter to paint it the first time and the two part gallons of paint if that will make him happyThere Is a lot of other issues that went into this project with Mr*** and my employee
So let me know what you want to do
Sincerely
Dennis ***
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2015/11/29) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We are unable to open the letter attachment from the first painterBut as the contractor states, there were several issues with his employee as noted below
He did paint over cobwebs, dust and even a leaf. The homeowner was the one that went around the house with a broom, cleaning away the debrisAlso, there were several employees at our house that day that were witness to this happeningWhen the homeowner questioned the painter about his lack of prepping, he stated that prepping was not in his contract with the contractorThen the painter asked the homeowner's wife if he could see our contract, he followed her into the house and into the bedroom where the contract was locatedAt this time he was asked to leave the propertyHe states that that was fine because he had spoken with the contractor and the contractor told him to leave for the dayHomeowner's wife called contractor and explained what happened and he assured her that this painter would not be returning
So, after all that said, with the painters unprofessional manner, the negative talk about the contractor and complaining about the poor communication between the contractor and his employees...there is nothing in his letter that we care to hear
As for the phone calls, we have phone record that shows that the homeowner called the contractor on 9/23,10/1,10/6,10/7,10/and our final call was made on 11/There were more calls that occured before 9/23, but they had been deleted from the phoneDeleting them was a mistake on our part, we did not think we were going to dealing with this, as we felt that the contractor was going to fix the mistakesThis was a lesson well learned
In response to the paintThe paint rep was here in mid summer at which time he stated that he would have paint to the homeowner in two weeksThe third painter did not come until October and the contractor told the homeowner that the painter was going to be late due to the contractor needing to go to Plymouth to pick up paintIn saying that, there was no way that the paint rep had the paint to give to the homeowner in "two weeks"
We have emailed two attachmentsOne showing what we should have been expecting from a professional painter and the second is the estimate that we recieved from a painting company that came to give an estimate to repair the damage
Finally, in response to the offer made by the contractor, he does not give a dollar amount for the repairs
As shown in the estimate, it will be approximately $for the repairsWe are requesting the full $For the repairs, along with all the distress that this situation has caused the homeowners
Sincerely,
*** and *** ***
