Platinum Pools Reviews (11)

Every part of our experience with Platinum Pools has been overly positive and exceeded all expectationsWe purchased a house with a very old gunite pool that needed a tremendous amount of workNot being knowledgeable about pools at all, I feel so fortunate to have had Platinum completely rebuild and renovate our poolIt has been an absolute pleasure and I would recommend them very very highly

In response to [redacted] 's complaint, we completed everything in her contract and more For example, the entire plumbing was re-done on her pool with dedicated lines, one to each skimmer, and a main drain line as well as returns lines - all in inch plumbing - for FREE As a result of the original plumbing being faulty, I did not want her to do new pavers over plumbing that leaked I also cleaned the existing patio of square feet at a cost to me of $300, without passing that charge onto [redacted] , so it would look great and match the new paver patio We also installed a drainage system at the meeting of the new paito and the old patio to collect all of the rainwater We also custom painted the grate on the patio to match the bricksThis was all done in the spirit of SERVICE Also, I gave her two blue stone covers that are usually $each, that I gave her for free! The only things I charged her for that weren't on the contract were soil around the perimeter of the new pavers and the labor to lay it down (because she wanted to get rid of the rocks because the kids were throwing the rocks in the lawn and pool) ($300), sweeping the polymeric sand ($300), a ladder ($300) was a coping mount ladder that would loosen the new pavers as the steel pool flexes She told me on several occasions she wanted to keep the budget so I kept as close to it as I could, sustaining financial loss in the name of service, while charging her only for the bare minimum of what she needed to complete the job What is so puzzling about this is that she came home from overseas, was very happy, had a couple of small issues that we took care of immediately, approved the job and said she was going to send me final payment three weeks ago She said she would leave me a check in the mailbox When I went to pick up my check that Monday, it was not there and I texted her and told her I needed final payment She apologized and told me to come by 7pm that night At 6:that evening she texts me and tells me that night would not work I attempted to make arrangements with her for payment the following morning and received no response The next communication was that her uncle was sick and that she would put a check through her bank immediately That was two weeks ago I waited days and I received no check from the bank I texted her because she told me it was her preferred method of contact because she rarely checks her emails All of her quartz stones are still there around here shed We did transfer the stones from around the pool and added them to an area adjacent to the shed In the original agreement, we were to put all the existing patio blocks behind the cabana for future use as a substrate for her future waterfall, therefore saving her $in labor and materials The old patio blocks were already broken! That is why she was replacing them! They were to be used as a SUBSTRATE, as FILL, to save her money on her future waterfall project And [redacted] OK'd it for when we were to do the waterfall next year Now she decides it is unsafe If she wanted them taken out we would have charged her accordingly and removed them! [redacted] owes me $that she has already agreed, on three occasions, in writing, to pay the balance due and is making every excuse not to pay, up to and including accusing me of threatening her! I wish there was a Revdex.com for me to complain about customers like this

The system that was
purchased is a Platinum Circulation and 80% Cleaning SystemThe homeowner
acknowledges in his complaint that he was told that he would not get 80% with
his system as his was designed. The cleaning coverage, as was
explained to the homeowner, was presented in a
combination of the Platinum Circulation
and 80% Cleaning System with a robotic cleanerThe system does provide
cleaning coverage, mainly on the tanning shelf, steps, and spa, the areas that
his robotic cleaner won't coverThe robotic cleaner will clean the floor and
walls of the poolWith the combination of the two, he gets 100%
coverage. This is a choice made by the homeowner to cut the cost of the
pool down to meet his budget
Platinum has visited the
pool several times in the last months, and each visit we find the pool dirty,
cloudy, and in poor maintenance. He has complained about low circulation
in the pool, and that the filter was not working properlyWhen we checked this
out, the homeowner had recently cleaned his filters, and did not properly
reassemble the filterAlso, this homeowner has no landscaping or sod in the
back yard, which is causing a large amount of sand and dirt to blow or wash
into the pool constantlyWe informed him that until this was done that he
would continue to battle with a dirty pool, and a dirty filter. We have
had to replace parts on this pool already as a direct result of this condition,
parts that he was not charged for, and should have been
In addition, there are
several items that were added to this pool, that were not on his contract, and
that he did not pay forHe has received waterfall lights, with installati
has received extra spa jets with plumbing, an additional pump for the jets,
and installatihas received concrete walls for the trampoline area,
materials and labor-- he received an electrical panel upgrade, and
installation-and we also replaced tile that we installed , because he
didn't like the tile HE selectedWe paid for the materials for the first
installation, and the labor for two installations
This is not indicative
that Platinum does not practive good customer relations, good faith, or that we
are difficult to work withThis homeowner also has an unpaid balance on
his contractIf his balance is not paid his warranty for his pool will be
voided
Platinum denies this
homeowner's request for yet another credit towards this pool contract

Review: Contracted this company to do a job in my pool deck and to replace and expand my pool filter, the company installed the wrong multi-port on my filter, causing this to destroy the inside of the filter. Last year the pool was not working properly and I contacted the company, they came to service the issue and wanted to charge my for this call. This year I hired a different pool guy who discovered that the wrong multi-port was installed. I immediately contacted [redacted] to get the issue resolved and he answered back and told me he was going to take care of this. Now, he is stalling in fixing the problem and sometimes doesn't even want to answer my text messages. I rather communicate with him via text messages to have a record of the conversations.Desired Settlement: I want the multi-port to be replaced for the right one and and the filter grids to be replace with new grids

Review: Platinum Pools abandoned the work on our pool construction after being payed the majority of the balance in advance and failed to complete the work in a satisfactory manner. Even after having asked multiple times to complete the work owed to us, Platinum Pools failed to complete the following:

- Installation of appropriate brackets to support patio stone over pool cover box. Platinum Pools left the area over the pool cover box structurally unsafe and failed to complete it for a year. (Work now completed by others, resulting in $1400 additional expenses to owner)

- Installation of appropriate drainage of cover box. (now done by others)

- Delivery and installation of Polaris pool cleaner (Platinum Pools failed to deliver and install Polaris cleaner, even though $2500 was paid for it by us in June 2013)

- fix patches and footprints made by his workers in Diamondbrite pool plaster applied by Platinum Pools (poor result, not remedied for nearly one year)

- fix calcium staining of waterline tile caused by Platinum Pools' grout installation (unacceptable result, not corrected by Platinum Pools)

- exchange pool light installed with insufficient cord length.

Furthermore, he installed Koi pond components and plumbing that were insufficient (filter, UV) or not energy efficient as agreed upon (pump), as per 2 independent pond experts. The components and plumbing ($4500) needed to be removed; appropriate components were installed and plumbing redone by others at significant expense to owner.

To this date Platinum Pools is unwilling to return to fix errors and complete the job that was largely paid in advance. As an excuse, Mark T[redacted] from Platinum Pools demanded that we have to provide him with the accounting of the pool construction, which is obviously his job. Using this as an excuse not to do the work and not to provide purchased and payed-for material is unprofessional, fraudulent, and incomprehensible to us. Furthermore, Mark T[redacted] from Platinum pools stated that he would retroactively remove the 4% discount previously advertised and agreed to in writing. There is no excuse for such unprofessional and negligent work. Everything am describing to you is well documented in email exchanges and photographs.Desired Settlement: - Delivery and installation of Polaris pool cleaner.

- fix patches and footprints in Diamondbrite pool plaster.

- fix calcium staining of waterline tile caused by Platinum Pools' grout installation

- exchange pool light installed with insufficient cord length.

- adjust accounting / refund to cover additional cost to owner related to completing / fixing incomplete job.

Review: I was provided an agreement with services to be rendered. I was left with a job that was not in the agreed upon contract. While out of the country, he charged me additional fees without my approval. All demolition was completed, however left behind my shed which has now caused damage. My latest purchased blocks were thrown behind the shed, cracked and broken. When asked to keep my quartz rock in case needed, he still removed from my property. While out of country, he emailed me to tell me I was over budget on my stones. When confronted him about cost against contract, he agreed he was wrong, but then nickel and dimed me with things he never asked me to pay for. I emailed him with all the issues I found with the work he completed. They were corrected, but issues still are there. He has since threatened my fathers business and my family for payment. I have asked him to stop contacting me and he continues to text me until I said my lawyer will contact him. I will also file a police report as I am afraid for my family's safety.Desired Settlement: I will pay for parts once shown what typical costs are, however will not pay for things I am unaware of and cant prove.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

In regard to the response below, many items and facts have been missed or incorrect including the quartz stone which was removed. What Platinum Pools also has failed to explain is that he was paid in full based on contract before the job was even completed. This contract included plumbing as per our agreement and was not a gift. Only when an attempt to overcharge me was presented did I begin to question the charges in which I incurred while I was out of the country and did not approve of. I was first told I went over the sq ft of the pool and that was an additional $2800. I had the pool measured and questioned his measurements. He then rescinded those costs and began to nickle and dime me for other things he never mentioned costs for. I was left a ladder that I can not prove is new nor have I been provided the ladder purchase information. This is the same for the filter/pump (Never shown old or new). The deck was supposed to extend to the existing brick foundation, however it was short by several ft. When I questioned about the concrete left in between he offered to fill in dirt but never mentioned additional charges. I stopped payment of check once I went into my yard and inspected the pool and found cement over the pool deck, holes left open and bricks replaced that did not look anything like the other brick work. I have pictures of all issues. I then at that time let [redacted] know that I will not need his services to open my pool albeit in my contract because there was no longer any trust. I told him at that time, when my pool was opened, the job would be evaluated and if they approved the values of the "equipment" he left, payment would be made. I have received no bill or receipt for any of these additional services just text messages. In addition, all demolition of my pool was left behind my shed in piles of cracked brick, a danger to my family. The new bricks used for the pool, thrown in a pile, cracked a broken as well and this has caused damage to my fence. In addition, my yard was torn up in several places, pots moved and never replaced therefore causing more damage to grass.

In regards to [redacted] threatening me, he has been constantly harassing me through text and stated several times that he wanted his money now. He also stated in text he would have all of his wealthy friends contact my fathers business and request expensive work and then he will have them sue him - a threat to my fathers livelihood I asked him to stop contacting me and he refused over and over, repeating the same message, "No, I want my money you owe me". Only when I was advised to text him and state to stop contacting me and that my lawyer would contact him did he stop. I have provided all text messages to the police department who have also contacted [redacted] based on their review of same text messages. I am a single mother living alone with young children and he has me scared to a point where I need to have a new alarm system installed in my home. I have paid my contract price in full of $12,000. $1,000 is not an issue to pay, however he has tried over and over to over charge me and I am asking for proof of purchases and now an evaluation of the work will also be done. I am now in contact with a law firm so I will not be discussing further billing at this time with [redacted].

This is not a "get of paying" ploy as [redacted] has described. $8000 was provided to [redacted] before the work stated. The final payment of $4k was provided to [redacted] upon my return while the job was still in progress. I will not be bullied as [redacted] is trying to do.
