To who it may concern,On February 6th 2014, [redacted] came in to my business for grooming. [redacted], my groomer, told the owner [redacted], his dog would have to be shaved short because of how matted to the skin his hair was. This would be the 3rd time we were shaving [redacted] due to his...
poor condition. [redacted] had to previous appointments that he did not show up for. Each time [redacted] had brought [redacted] in for a grooming we informed him that to prevent the knots from happening [redacted] should be in for grooming every 6-8 weeks not 4-7 months. Its very dangerous for the dog to be matted to the skin like and [redacted] was. He was being neglected. We had a full staff on that day and all witnessed [redacted]s poor condition. [redacted] was nervous so [redacted] took her time with him. When she was done giving him his haircut she put himdown to run around n play. We all could physically see the difference in personality [redacted] had after. He was playing n just seemed happier with all the knots off his skin. We very much deny any injury to [redacted] as claimed and would welcome and comply with any further investigation on your part. We have an outstanding reputation at Plain and Fancy. We have a plethora of clients who would vouch for our love and compassion we have for the dogs much more than most groomers. All the local vets recommend us. We also have great relationships with our clients, the pet owners. We have been at our location in [redacted], pa for over 10 years and have never ever received a complaint to this degree. We have extensive notes taken about [redacted] from his previous appointments. They concern how bad a condition he was in. February 6th of 2014 was absolutely no different. There is no legitimate reason why I would pay for his vet bill. The owner [redacted] has been told specifically over and over again about how often [redacted] should come in and get groomed. [redacted] made the choice to neglect his dog. Its very sad to see. If any further action needs to be taken, I welcome any questions or concerns.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Response to plain and fancy-Revdex.com
I would
like to response to the comments made by [redacted], owner and operator of
Plain and fancy. The first being it was the hard time shaving my Dog [redacted]. I
requested that he get shave not he groomer. He was not in poor condition, he
just needed a haircut. There were no knots or mats, again his hair was long and
he needed a haircut.plain and simple. The owner can make any claim she wants
about how I care for my dog and how many appointments I missed (maybe 2 over the
course of three years). The fact of the matter is I care for all my pets as if
they were my children. The fact that I did not visit her shop every 6-8 weeks
does not indicate that his hair was not cut. Her costs are considerable higher
than most groomers. Did she ever consider that there are other ways that dogs
could be groomed from home? So, before making claims about how my dog was you
must first consider all the possible options that an owner can use to care for
his pet’s hair. In terms of him being happy after his grooming with [redacted], I
again disagree. If shaking wimpling in pain, licking his private areas indicate
joy than maybe the owner and her staff members need to look at what a happy dog
portrays.
The facts
are clear and concise in terms of his injuries suffered at her shop. These are
not made up claims or designed opinion such as those represented by the owner
of the shop. His back was injury, his penis was clipped, he had to take
medication for six weeks, and he had limited mobility for up to three
weeks. His sleeping habits and overall
attitude was very different. Those are the facts. The owner can spin it any way
she likes. The purpose of business is to be accountable for actions committed
when a dog is left in her care. I personally have not slandered the owner in a
public forum. But I feel the when she said” [redacted] made his choice to neglect
[redacted]. It’s very sad to see”. This statement is unjust, unsupported and a
personal attack on my ability to be a responsible pet owner. I don’t need people
to vouch for my commitment to all my pets; they already know how much I care
for them and how good I take care of them.
One last
point. The owner may want to dig a little deeper and she may find out that her
reputation is not as good as she indicated. It has been clear to me that not
every sees her business as an outstanding reputable establishment. I must also
say that the phone call I got from her business association was both revealing
and very unacceptable.
The process of using the RevDex.com as a forum for my complaint has been an education. I have
learned the business at hand is clearly unwilling to take responsibility and
accountability for it’s actions, those being injuries as a direct result of the
grooming given to my dog It was my hope that this process would have helped
bring this matter to a close. I have been left with only one choice and that is
to let a judge decide this matter in court. This process will cost us both of
time and money. The judge will rule either way but I think more importantly the
court of public opinion will have a much longer effect. The question still
remains, does a business need be accountable or do customers just have to take
a risk when entering this groomer.
I for one will do everything in my power to make this groomer and
others accountable for any injuries to our beloved pets. Plain and fancy: bring
it on. Everything you have…just be ready. I will not stand by and let my pet or
any other pet be a victim. See you in court~!
