Excessively charged $620 for clearing a toilet drain with price charged intended to be discounted for military veterans.
12 days later, toilet clog returned and Pipe Works Services, Inc refused to remedy the issue, regardless of the fact
that the original service failed properly remedy the problem. They attempted to charge me an additional $530 to
perform the same exact service, adding that it could be found that there is a need to replace the entire pipe. There
was also a new leak at the base of the toilet that wasn't there prior to the plumber removing and supposedly clearing
the line during the initial service. Pipe Works refused to remedy that as well, stating that a toilet will always leak at the
base if it is clogged and filled. I explained that I have dealt with many clogged toilets in my time on this earth, never
experiencing leaking at the base of a toilet. They still refused any relief for the issue, except to relieve me of another $530,
along with whatever fee they would quote me for replacing the sewer pipe. (Likely to be in the many thousand).
I would like to thank Pipe Works, for their concern for military veterans by offering us discounted prices and fair work practices.
The customer had a very clogged line that requires more than a standard snake. Our technician told him that the line was clogged with wipes which are one of the worst thing you can flush. I am copying and pasting the job verbiage from our CRM:
Arrived on site customer stated that 1st floor toilet is clogged Customer stated that the same toilet is clogged we were out here over a week ago with the same situation advised homeowner that there is no warranty on drain cleaning he advised that it should be under warranty I explained to homeowner why there is no warranty on drain cleaning customer is going to speak to Mike T advised customer to call office Advised homeowner when we were here previously that we found heavy amounts of paper products as well as possible baby wipes or Clorox wipes In the line I advise homeowner that there is no warranty on the sewer line due to old existing piping he was aware And that we cannot predict what the homeowner is flushing down the toilet. the line was clear and flowing when I left the previous time tested for proper operation home owner signed off 2/20/19 Offered customer discounted rates recommended to re snake the line and camera but did not want to proceed customer states there should be warranty but there is no warranty on drain cleaning calls.
If a sewer line is not cleared properly the same problem will keep occurring over time and can then back up raw sewage into your home. Additionally we gave him a veterans 20% discount on the second visit but he refused and wanted the job at no charge.
Pipeworks sent least experience tech out to our home resulting in us occurring an exorbitant service fee of $1,120.00. Pipeworks continued to send employees who mis-diagnose and incorrectly install new parts and or forgot to install key parts to new HVAC unit.
Causing us to endure several days of extreme discomfort and inconvenience. We are now questioning the very fact if we even needed a new HVAC unit due to it only being 7 years old. We are having another HVAC service coming out to look into our claim. total cost $6,077.00 Pipeworks did make a effort to return some of this monies $700.00 and an adjustment of $165.00. Pipeworks stated that they would credit more monies back to my credit card only to have baited and switched, asking me to sign a release and to remove the two year warranty.
This complaint was resolved via our attorney. There is an agreement and papers signed to my knowledge.
I wrote a negative review on Yelp, because the tech was late and I have had issues in the past with this company (Pipeworks) I also called a few days later to get my money back for the tech being late and doing nothing. I did not hear from Pipeworks until I wrote the negative review. They told me if I took down the negative review, they would give me my money back. If they had returned my call and discussed my concerns with the company that would have been fine. It seems that they only care about their image and try to bribe customers who give bad reviews. I do not care about the $105.00 anymore. I have also had other problems with this company. Will not use Pipeworks ever again.
On 3/8/2018 I called Pipe Works Services, Inc. because I needed a plumber to repair 2 baseboard heaters that were leaking, 1 in a spare bedroom and 1 in my kitchen. Soon, a plumber arrived from Pipe Works (Jimmy F). I was told prior to him coming out I would be charged a $99.00 service fee but if he proceeded with the work that fee would be deducted from work that was done. I was told that my 2 air valves needed to be replaced in each baseboard. I was told there is a 90 day warranty my the manufacturer for the parts and a 30 day warranty for all materials, parts, and equipment and also for all labor performed by the company. It states this on the receipt I have. I paid a total of $541.66 for the work. On 3/19/2018 (11 days later) I noticed a puddle on my kitchen floor. I called up Pipe Works and they said they would send out another plumber and would waive the $99.00 service fee for me this time. Another plumber came out. He looked at both baseboards (there was no problem with the spare bedroom one) and he checked my kitchen baseboard heater. He told me the pipe needed to be raised so that it was more level and the steam would not leak onto my floor. He told me he put in a copper part to raise the pipe and that I shouldn't have any further problems with the baseboard leaking. He also inspected my boiler and turned a couple of knobs on it and told me my pressure gauge was off. He tried to get me to have my boiler serviced for $400.00. I told him I'd had it serviced in 9/2017 and was it OK for me to wait until the fall of 2018 to get it serviced as I didn't have the money now. He said it was OK to wait. He left telling me that this should stop any further puddles on my floor. The very next day, 3/20/2018 I awoke to a loud clanging and found another puddle in the kitchen. I called them again and was told I would be charged a $99 service fee and they couldn't waive it again. I still have puddles after paying them over $500.00.
Our Service Manager went out the the customers home and spoke with the home owner. We have refunded her money and taken care of the problem.
