Review: On July 9th, 2014, I parked in the parking lot on [redacted] in Charlottesville, VA. I needed to park for one hour. I inserted a $20 into the machine in payment for a $2 parking charge, and was given a parking receipt that displayed both amount paid ($20) and total due ($2). The machine did not provide change, as the signage indicated. There was an unmanned attendant booth, and a phone number displayed. The next day, I called the number and spoke with [redacted], who identified himself as owning the company that managed this lot. I told him about my overpayment and requested a refund. He claimed that he could not and would not provide a refund, since there were signs clearly stating that the machine gave no change. He offered a day of parking in another lot, which is of no value to me. I visited his office the next day and again politely requested a refund, and he again said he was unable to provide it.

I understand that the machine does not provide change and agree that there is considerable signage pointing this out. But there is no reason in my mind why, when presented with a valid receipt showing the overpayment, the company cannot provide a refund. To me, this represents a clearly unethical practice.Desired Settlement: A refund in the amount of $18, the difference between the "total paid" and "total due" as shown on the receipt that I have.

Review: In the parking lot there is a ticket machine used to give parking vouchers. I selected the 1 hour option for parking, totaling $2.00. I inserted a $10 bill to pay for the total. Afterwards I received my parking voucher, but not was returned my $8.00. I called the company and they said they do not issue change or refunds. I asked if I could come into the office to receive my change and the employee laughed at me and told me there was no way to receive my change.Desired Settlement: I would like my change and an apology.
