This letter is in response to the Revdex.com Complaint ID: [redacted])
My name is Janie T. M[redacted], and I am the Founder & CEO of Phila Jobs Inc. Phila Jobs Incorporated is a Philadelphia based staffing agency focusing on job placement, job training, and the betterment of the Philadelphia people through employment and education.
| received word that a complaint was filed with your Bureau against my agency on the basis of “service issues". Upon reviewing the information found in the complaint; it seems that the Customer is ultimately upset that we were not able to job-match her, and therefore feels entitled to a refund of her background check fees (as well as all information obtained during the background check by our agency).
On April 16th, 2014 the Customer came into my office seeking employment - I personally interviewed her. During the interview process our policies and practices were thoroughly outlined for the Customer, to which she eagerly agreed to (I have attached her signed preemployment agreement to this letter). On April 21th, 2014 the Customer was contacted in regards to her pre-employment background check that was performed, for which she had to pay a non-refundable fee of $20 for us to process on her behalf – everything checked out fine. On May 1th, 2014 | personally called the Customer to start a new assignment that she had previously stated she was interested in — There was no answer, so I left a message. As of today, have never heard back from the Customer.
In conclusion, it was clearly stated to the Customer what the $20 background check fees were used for, that the information obtained during the check was not made public by us, that the information obtained would not be given to the Customer but used for employment purposes for our agency, and that the fees were non-refundable (as stated on the receipt she was given).
Based on our policies and practices, we will not be honoring the requests of the Customer.
We wish the Customer all the best of luck with her job search, and we hope that she keeps us in mind should she require the use of a staffing agency in the future.
Sincerely,
Janie T. M[redacted]
