Ms. [redacted] purchased a sofa on layaway back in October 2014. When she made her final payment, she paid for a [redacted] Insurance policy because she had a dog but never indicated what type or how large of a dog she had. We maintain that the damage was caused by the dog and its excessive...
weight and the weight being concentrated by its paws and not evenly distributed like a human being sitting on it plus the extra bounce when a dog climbs on and off. The dog is approximately 180lbs+- Great Dane. The sofa wasn't designed for that type of use. Ms. [redacted] originally called [redacted] Insurance on 6/10/15 and told them that the damage may be from the dog but not sure. 6/15 photos received by [redacted] Insurance. 6/22 [redacted] Insurance called Ms. [redacted] to discuss and somehow now it is the manufacture problem. From what [redacted] has told us she wasn't totally upfront in explaining the situation to [redacted] in regards to how large a dog she owns. if it had been said that the dog caused the damage, [redacted] Insurance would have bought her a new couch. At this point [redacted] Insurance has reimbursed me $355 and I have informed Ms. [redacted] that I will send to her or even drop off the check. I will also reimburse her the $40 for the warranty. Ms. [redacted] told me that she has already gone out and bought a new sofa before we settled this mess.I will give her a store credit of $438.34 which is the balance of what she paid including the [redacted] insurance policy.Sincerely,
